Not for me anyway. No idea what the fascination is for smaller watches. Especially on divers where visibility is paramount. In any case, Tudor has that market covered for Rolex.

YES..
A 36mm sub..would be perfect for those that want a smaller, lighter weight watch..w/bezel..
I would buy one in a heartbeat..
Similar to the TOG..just...better..

Just do a 5 digit reissue

This please. Why they went for the boxy case, i have no idea...
I've been following the whole SS rarity thing but then again.. Even if one was available to try on (i did try many 6 digits a few years ago, when the hulk was easy to spot at AD's), I dont think I would've enjoyed the 6 digit boxy case...
I'll probably get myself a 5 digit GMT next. If the vintage prices dont go too crazy.

There were three small versions of the Tudor sub. 36mm (75090/75190), 32mm Mini-Sub (94400) and the 28mm Lady-Sub (96090).

No!
Diameter to thickness ratio should remain pleasant.
Can they make it slimmer without making it WR to "only" 100m?

Absolutely they should, the fact Rolex doesn't is a reason I wear a Steinhart diver, it fits my 6.5" wrist much better than a 40mm. Doesn't sound like much but put them side by side and its a big difference. It's a good enough watch, sapphire crystal, 1K' water resistant, 316 steel, and accurate swiss made 8 steps a second movement, just like Rolex.

It would sell like crazy in certain parts of the world, among the smaller wristed and on the wives of WIS everywhere...

I'd buy one immediately.

Ditto. A 38 mm maxi case subC would be a hit with multi year wait lists comprised of both men and women .

No one with small wrists wants to wear a chunky maxi case.
Seriously, there was this pic of charlize theron wearing a SDDS very loosely and i thought it looked great (the watch too, that is ).
I think a 40sub on a woman already looks great, so 38mm would be a moot point.
36 (or less) on the other hand, with the 5 digit case...

Part of the problem is... Many people who want a rugged watch want them to look rugged. Which means large and chunky. Larger lugs and crown guards have nothing to do with ruggedness. The reality is that even 28mm DJ will survive even most environments that people can throw at them. 330 feet of waterproofing is well beyond most scuba diving. Even something like the DSSD could be scaled smaller but it wouldn't look like it could do its job.

There isn’t any practical or functional difference between a 40mm Sub and a 37mm YM or the older 35mm YM. So I’d say Rolex has the option covered.

A Rose by any other name...

There are articles about dive watches under 40mm but none sell like the Sub, except for Chinese Invicta’s.

My wife has the ladies size YM, I'd buy her a small Sub for sure.

There are non-Rolex options in the sub 40mm range. This one is my Bathyscaphe clocking in at 38mm. However, Rado, Omega, Seiko and others have plenty of sub 40mm options.

Agree that Rolex would probably not want to mess w the Sub’s dimensions.

they already basically make it in 3 sizes. giant sub, medium sub, and the standard sub.

sure, why not add a 4th

If there was a market for a smaller sub, the 36mm Tudor Sub would be selling for crazy money on the different sites comparable to its 40mm counterpart. It is not and can still be had quite affordably.

Yes, I think they'd sell tens of thousands, but I don't see Rolex ever making one. It would be a bit like regression and admitting failure if they reduce the case size at this point.

I would really like one..
But they will never do it as it would cut into their 37mm YM sales..
The Tudor Mini Sub..has gone way up in price in the last year or 2..
If anything..they would reintroduce it in that line..
