Ridiculous. I know exactly how you feel as I study high def pics of anything I've got on the way. A let down after commitment to the idea. Ouch. I don't know how you didn't demand on the spot that they find a way to produce your SD43 as promised to you on the phone to the point that security had to be called to remove you from the AD.

I would have probably done the same. Just to keep the 'relationship' intact/cordial so that the next SD43 will come my way.

It also happens when people announce “Sea-Dweller sitting in AD window” and people go wild until it’s established it’s a Deepsea Best to always ask for a photo before making a trip, I always do |

It's amazing how little these people know at times isn't it. It's like dealing with car salesmen.

lol you are right. These poor ADs are doing their best. Now I feel like an unreasonable demanding customer asking the Rolex SA how a Rolex feature works

If only rolex assigned unique numbers that would identify the product?

Instead of nicknames based on fictional characters

We just got her a Submariner from the Short Hills location. Michael in the GSP location is trying to get me a Submariner Date as well. I'm not going to hang the AD out to dry in this instance, but one of the worst ADs I've been to is the one in the Willowbrook Mall. I'm not even sure how they have AD status. Also the Willowbrook Mall is a little "below" Rolex...considering the types of shops they have in there. |

1) The salespeople just don't pay close attention or 2) The black Deep Sea's are not moving like the rest of the SS models and so they are offering to people waiting on an SD43 in the hopes that they come in and decide to buy anyway. |

I didn't specify, but but the Deep Sea they pulled out was the black which I know is less desirable than the James Cameron. We'll see what happens. |

Lol, yes....was def surprised to find an AD there, as well. I will give that AD some credit though: before the drought, they always had an impressive amount of in-stock inventory for such a tiny store, in my experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Funny, same thing almost happened to me yesterday. I was on a few SD43 lists from before I bought the DSSD, and my name came up for the call yesterday. There was no way I could swing leaving work early, and like you would have ended up fighting traffic 1.5 hrs each way, I had to pass and kicked myself for it all evening. I called today to see if by chance it was still available (it wasn't), but during the call I learned it was actually a DSSD anyway. Back on the list I go.
FWIW I don't think the SD43 will be coming home with me, but I want to handle it side by side with my 126660 to make sure. The DSSD is a fantastic watch for me, the size is great and the flat caseback makes it very comfortable for my flat wrist, and I don't think the SD43 will be different enough to justify both. If I do get the SD43, I'll be verifying the fitment and ordering another 126660 external glidelock clasp for it at the same time, I use that thing at least 3x a day and it would be a rough go to get used to a standard glidelock again. It should fit, and the AD should let me order it as a replacement part for my DSSD. |

I have been waiting for SD43 since 2017, still no clue it will come or not.
Deepsea is there a few times at my AD, but it's really chunky! |

She was only 1mm off and no red text...
@OP: I've had these sort of drives too. The disappointment. The heart sinking. Sad mixed with a bit of anger. |

Sorry to hear. Not to the OP but just a friendly reminder...Always keep your cool. What would getting angry accomplish? What would you gain by berating someone?
...and besides, you had an hour drive home in a car to tell and curse all you want :-) I'm confident they will come through for you sooner rather than later |

Sorry for you there OP. The lousy traffic is just icing on the cake.
Maybe if we didn't use nicknames, but actual model numbers, these things wouldn't happen?

You did the right thing. Don't settle, hold tight for what you want and as others have said, the next one in has to be yours!

Thank you all for the continued support.
The general manager of the AD apparently is a forum member and saw my post. He reached out to me directly with the intentions of resolving this situation ASAP. |

Yikes, we are all human and make mistakes....BUT, that is an inexcusable mistake for the sales rep to make. Just really careless work. Incompetence even.
