I beg to differ.

Over 2 years in with mine and the red lettering is just as special as it was on day 1.

My wrist is 6.75 inches and pretty flat, and the SD43 is an easy daily wearer for me.

If your wrist is flat, you may be totally fine. If its round, perhaps not so much.

Its also a watch that IMO you need to wear snug. If that's not your thing, then it may not be the watch for you.
Some more perspective, since I haven't had time to measure my wrist. Here's me wearing my 44mm Luminor Marina. Theres not really much overhang, so guess my wrist is either pretty flat or not as small as I always consider it to be.

I actually visited a jewellery fair this morning, and had a chance to see the SD43 and DSSD up front. The DSSD actually felt more compact, possibly due to the flat caseback and though much heavier than any of my other watches, definitely not heavy enough to be a deal breaker. The bracelet obviously wasn't sized, so couldn't get an exact feel for it but I do usually wear my watches very snug and hate even the slightest bit of wiggle so the DSSD JC is now definitely on my radar...and that fabulous gradient dial with the green letters and domed crystal makes the other Subs and Sea Dwellers pale in comparison...it's simply in a class of its own

Based on your wrist pic with the 116520, go for the Submariner. The 16610 would be my vote!

On my 6.75” wrist (apologies for the poor pic quality)

Everyone has their own views, but I think it fits fine. It’s a big dive watch. It’s not meant to be inconspicuous. I do, however, find it extremely comfortable to wear and not at all heavy.

It’s more about shape and proportion in my opinion

For me it’s the matte dial with red text. Love it. The slight thickness is no issue and overall size of the watch feels good. I also had a Hulk and was and is a great watch. Wasn’t easy letting go.

Had the extension removed on mine. Fits perfectly with no links removed.

The only concern I have with this watch is that my perception of it is that it can’t double as a dress watch like the Sub can.

I’m now looking into dress watches.

If the Sub can be used in dressy situations, then the SD certainly can too

Unless of course you need an excuse to acquire a dress watch in which case ignore what I typed above
