Nationals pitcher. All 4 are averaging 12k per game. It’s amazing.

The Astros are just a better team than the Yankees. I did not have high hopes going into the series. Verlander and Cole are just better than our guys.

Astros!!

The Yankees catcher was awful behind the plate. He lets a lot of balls by. If I were a pitcher on the Yankees I’d be scared to throw a breaking ball in the dirt not knowing if my catcher will stop it.

Pretty impressive streak broken with Yankees loss. They made the WS at least once every decade for the last 100 years. No other team can say that.

Yankees Streak Over

Well, no other team spent $2B in player salaries in the last decade, either. WSJ has a good take on it:

All the Yankee opposition comes out from the darkness now, same ole.
With that said...
Congrats to Washington & Houston on your pennants.

Please play some good ball and make the World Series enjoyable.

I for one don’t care who wins as the Yankees lost so our year is a failure. We will be back and we will compete again.

Tough day but still Proud to be a Yankee fan - next year we will chase Championship number 28.

P.S. 27 Championships still reigns HIGH above ANY Major League Sports franchise record!

I have to wait for 2020 October Yankee baseball. So frustrating. Tied it up in the 9th. Chapman blows it.

I’m very proud to be a Yankees fan for over 60 years now. I’ll always be proud of this team. They were gutty and gritty the entire year and remain the most successful sports franchise on the planet...and no other franchise is even close.
The quest for championship number 28 began today. Can’t wait for October 2020.

Happy to say I’m a lifelong Yankees fan They overcame a lot this year with injuries. Not many, if any other teams could have as many starters get hurt and have their fill ins produce like they did. 30 players on the IL this year and they came within 2 wins of going to the WS.

Truth is they were outplayed by the Astros. Only clutch hit was DJ last night. Go
Nationals

You called out the Red Sox in your original post, just saying. I hope the series is a good one!

It was pretty hard keeping my mouth shut about that too, pretty classless calling out one teams failure as a positive, should I gloat now that the EEs didn't get it done?

Why not? The District hasn't had a team in the WS since 1933, last won one in 1924. And the Astros won a WS a couple of years ago. (Always appreciated the Astros fans rolling with it when the were switched to the AL--it worked out OK!).

No interest? The Nats are putting real pressure on Houston. I don't think anyone thought they could go up 2-0. Not done yet, but looking good.

Edit: Looking better at 11-2!

Lifelong Yankee fan, obviously would have liked to see them advance however being from DC I’m thrilled with the Nationals advancing. My focus has shifted.

They’re off to a great start, soon 2-0 in the series and looking great.
