Thanks for your response, this definitely makes the decision an interesting one.

I appreciate all of the suggestions!

Just personal issue with GS. I owned two and LOVED them. Just the bracelet is not on par with the watch. It is a real shame. Also, the finish is INCREDIBLE, but it is also easy to scratch and once the integrity of the finishing is lost, it is near impossible to get it back. I hated wearing it as I was scared of scratches (which I could care less about on my Rolex). Sold both my GS and honestly don’t miss them.

Great input, would you go OP 39 or Exp I?

I think the OP in white may be more nonchalant.
That's easy...start with not buying another Rolex if that's a concern. Grand Seiko, Omega Seamaster....so many options.

You don't need another watch. You have the perfect pair. Wear accordingly, save your $$.

I flip flop back and forth between the two. Usually would have said Exp, but tried the OP on a few months back and it is stunning (black or white).

People say exp is more versatile, and though I can’t disagree, it is a VERY slight advantage IMO, as both are 99% as versatile as the other.

The dial appears more proportionate on OP as the bezel shape (and maybe smaller bezel size?) makes the dial look rather large on Exp.

Exp is way more interesting IMO with 369, matte finish, triangle 12 marker, etc. (not to take anything away from sunburst dial on OP).

Unpopular opinion, but the bracelet is a wash for me as easy link is useless. It’s something like 5mm which is wayyyy to much. It’s either too tight or way to loose if you actually need to use it.

Explorer seems to be more coveted as Rolex sport models are always more popular than classic models. If the forums opinion is important to you (which is not a bad thing), the Explorer is way to go.

Unpredictable, but if future value is important to you, then again, Explorer appears at this point in time, the way to go.

For same price, I’d go Explorer. With a 1200-2000$ difference, I’d be just fine with an OP.

Since you have a classic model (and a beautiful one) I’d say go Explorer.

If you want to switch it up a bit try to find below El Primero used (new, you will take a bath on resale)

You make some excellent points. I think I will start the hunt on an Exp I, while also still keeping my eye on the OP 39.

The only hesitation with the Exp was the overlap with the sub, but that may not be an issue.

I've settled on the White OP. What do you guys think of the fit on these?

I was able to try on the black OP and the white Oyster Date in the same size.

Second one is an oyster date, just for sizing purposes with the white dial.

AD did not have a white OP.
