I'm wanting an Explorer II Polar and have been in touch with 8 AD in the UK. I've been told a mixture of the following, no chance of getting on the waiting list, 2 year wait or a minimum 12 month wait.
I can't bring myself to pay over the market value for a second hand one but that's the way it seems to be heading.

First post.....please take it easy on a long time lurker in the forum.

I started to look for an addition to my GMT Master II LN a year or so ago and walked into an AD with no previous relationship. Up until last month, every visit, my wonderful SA advised or warned, depends how you look at it, me to expect to only be offerred TT, FG or DJ’s if I want any Rolex from their store.

Things changed last week and I am now being offerred an SS Explorer II polar dial. Not the most sought after unit but a foot in the door in my hunt to the elusive SS GMT/Sky dweller/Dayt...you know the list.

I can only speculate on what caused this but it is a welcome. Hope this trickles down to everyone hunting for their next watch.

Oh, and thanks for the collective knowledge everyone has shared.

I bought mine in December 2017. Walked in, got 5% taken off the MSRP, walked out with it.

Since then I've seen one Polar in my AD's window, maybe 1.5 years ago.

Last year I saw a Polar on display at the AD in Nicosia.

I haven't seen a single SS model on display at an AD since.
