11k DD is a bit aged in my opinion, don't look sharp anymore and may need service soon. a decent condition is more around 20k, that is N times of speedo, get a sppedo now enjoy and add DD when your pocket allow it

This was confusing. Do I want a speedmaster or a Day Date? I feel this is two opposite ends of the universe. But to add assistance to the OP, I would say that it depends on where you are in the evolution of your wrist watch tastes, and preferences. Probably more guys had a speedy long before they ever got a DD. Both watches would be great in the collection, So I say just plan on getting both at some time in your life. The order you get them is up to you.
