I don’t and the reason why is because they don’t feel great when I wear them. And I don’t love the look of them. The Blue Pelagos looks great but I can’t get over the snowflake dial. It looks cheapish. But I can’t afford a smurf and the price on that is great. It’s a watch I’ve considered getting.

The poor mans Rolex is retrograde. Tudor is producing watches for modern guys. Manufacture movement. I have several Tudors along with Rolex and other watches. I love Tudor.

Me. The BB58 is exceptional. I do not find it inferior in any way. In fact, i like it more than the 114060 it replaced.

About 4 years ago I was at the San Francisco airport and I had my black bay on and some Jerk with a Hulk told me I shoulda saved up to buy a Rolex |

Love both but not as much I do my speedy, which is my daily driver. So they’re both in the safe all the time with the few other watches I own. I got the BB58 just a few weeks ago and I’m smitten but haven’t worn it yet except to take photos. This is not quite a surprise to me because that’s normally how I treat a new watch - takes me a couple of months or so to actually start wearing it. Weird but that’s just how I am. The sub is a safe queen because I have yet to get used to the thick lugs despite having owned it for 19 months now. I may never get there that’s why I picked up the 58, but I’m hoping my 5-yr old son will eventually take a liking to it so I can hand it over to him when he reaches a certain age, but for now we both really like to play with the moonwatch and ignore the rest. LOL |

Haven't yet, but every day, considering it. What got me into watches was omega...I liked the classic look but didn't have enough funds for rolex. I knew omega was arguably just as good in terms of quality. Now, tudor watches look so classic, even better than omega, and it's arguably just as good.

When the six digit Rolex models were released some people loved the huge improvements in build quality but others were sorry to see the more practical tool character of the 5 series models disappear. Amongst the Professional models it seems that the older models were designed for and actually expected to be used for a special purpose (i.e. Seadwellers and Submariners for diving and GMTs for pilots etc.). The new designs were functional jewellery with a good heritage but most will never get made to ‘work for a living’ and the price evolution had made them into ‘prestige’ objects. Practical but the primary focus is not as a tool.
At the time lots of people debated whether Rolex could have made both types of models to satisfy everyone. A tier of lower priced and less luxurious legacy models alongside the new prime pieces to satisfy the original customer base and the upper tier to attract people who wanted a dress watch in sports watch guise. I think the new Tudor has been used to achieve this. My 116710LN was the best Rolex GMT ever made but is a little too nice for me to wear for my job as a long haul pilot. The current 126710 with jubilee and in your face bezel colours are an evolution too far for me and I don’t desire one at all. To busy and too flash without being as dressy as the LN models. My Tudor GMT has been the opportunity to own an evolution of the 5 series Rolex GMT2 with some useful quality improvements (improved movement and bracelet) at a tool watch price. I am comfortable wearing it every day at work. I think divers will grow to appreciate the Tudor divers in the same way. There is a place for both because they are able to offer many of the same things but be used for quite different things. Very good move by Rolex to use Tudor like this to cover different buyer preferences. Bravo. |

I've a 79090N and a 72990N to go along with my 116710BLNR and 114060. Love wearing the Tudor's more than the Rolex's tbh

Proud owner of a BB GMT along with a SubC and SS SkyD. I’m really happy with the retro tool vibe of the BB GMT. It is currently my daily and love the muted Pepsi colors of the bezel.
