I’ve owned both at the same time. Ultimately let the JC go and still have bluesy. The JC is a special watch and it is gorgeous. At the end of the day it was a comfort issue for me. I have 7.25 wrist. I wish it was just a tad bit smaller.
If you like TT, go bluesy. If TT isn’t your thing, go JC. |

Not a huge fan of TT even though I have owned most of them in years past. I prefer the JC and the dial is amazing. The updated bracelet on the new model also works better for me. I would do the JC first and a SD43 second if the JC proves to be too large.

I cannot comment on the Bluesy, but I've had the JC for over a month now and it's a superb and incredibly comfy watch. I wear it most days now.
I have posted the following back in December: "- it is really very comfortable (definitely more so than my CHNR and almost as good as my 16610LN on the Everest strap) on my 7.25 inch wrists; - it's not nearly as heavy as I thought it would be. Stopped noticing after awhile; - it is tall, but again stopped noticing after awhile; - the bezel looks more anthracite than black - the dial in low light looks black. But, in the light the blue really pops - I thought the "Ring Lock System" text would detract from the watch, but (despite the photos) it is hardly noticeable. - Love the "DEEPSEA" text in green - my first Rolex without the cyclops and the dial looks really clean - somewhat surprising is that the dial (excluding the ring lock) is 28mm and with the ringlock 31mm." |

had the bluesy. i thought it was rather over the top. i mean, it's supposed to be, but was a bit much, for me. the sunburst blue is breathtaking though.
the deepsea is amazing as well. people who say it's clunky and uncomfortable probably never put one on. sure it's a lot, but it's less than what you might think. and of course it'll wear huge if you're used to putting on a 40mm every day for the last couple of decades. that said, i'd wear a JC as a daily, and have zero reservations on any occasion that would come my way. some watches speak differently certain people. find yours. |

This thread makes me happy to be a proud owner of the D-Blue which would be my choice between these two.

You need to try both on and buy what sings to you . Had the two tone blue ,very nice , the blue deep sea is by far my favourite of the Stainless models

I currently own both. As much as I love the JC, the bluesy is my fav watch dial of all time. However, as a package the JC is my fav watch of all time if that makes sense? It just has a very unique feel to it. I have pondered a one watch collection and that would most likely be the JC as I think the bluesy works best in rotation. FYI: I tend to wear the JC OR 16600 as a daily, SD43 for the weekend and bluesy for hols / when the sun is out (about twice a year in the UK). Both great watches and a great decision to have to make.

Bluesy is an old man’s watch.
The DSSD D-blue (JC) is a completely different level than a Submariner. You just have to have wrist size to pull it off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I picked up mine yesterday and I cannot stop looking at it. The large round dome crystal is truly unique and it causes a very subtle distortion that makes this watch a one of a kind.
Furthermore, my AD said the key to this type of watch is that Rolex does not make many of them and when they are discontinued the price will be insane. |

I also doubt the D-Blue is going to be discontinued. If anything, I'd think the black dial would be discontinued and be more sort after at some point. Just my thoughts.

I have the Deep Blue and am delighted that it is in my collection...but must admit that it is a weekend-only watch for me and even then does not get a huge amount of wear.
In theory, I love the Bluesy, but every time I try it on, I decide that two-tone it is not for me |

Really appreciate all the comments on this. Seems I’m not alone in considering or having considered this conundrum.

JC by a country mile. Unique for its engineering, domed crystal/bezel integration, and the JC colour is superb.
The Bluesy is... just a very meh TT Sub. |

Bluesy all the way... JC is monstrous at least to me.
I tried it on at my AD awhile ago the case is too thick and I have 6.75 wrist ... Top heavy. Plus I don't like the green writing on the dial... One mans opinion though the choice is yours ... |

Both references are awesome. I own the JC and have tried on the bluesy but have not pulled the trigger on the bluesy. It is the one rolex I don't own but like should.

Own both and each find it's own place and worn time.
The two tone may attract more attentions from non enthusiast but the JC is the ultimate divers watch and who doesn't want it? |
