I'd pass and get the white dial as thats what you originally wanted. You may look at it and wish you had the white, It's never good to settle. I have had both but the white is special, thats why its at a premium, I've heard many stories of people in the same situation and it's rare that they are satisfied with second choice. I'd also be hesitant to pay for a watch that you may not receive for months, what if they go under in the meantime. Hopefully they'd be reasonable and let you leave a deposit. Many years ago when I first moved to NY I got a call from my gym membership office, they phoned up said they had a special, pay the whole years membership fee at once and they would offer me 50% off. 2 days later they shut the doors for good!.
Daytona prices are dropping so I suspect more will be available in the coming years.

Congratulations

I prefer the Black dial as well.

You scored a home run picking that up for retail.

Do you have a big spend history with your AD?

OP- Not sure you saw my post from this past weekend, but got a call from my AD late last week and they had a BLNR (Batman) for me. I picked it up at the shipping door at the AD's store - no contact. I had to wire the funds and it was easy - and what a time to be getting a new time piece.

Congrats - Love that Daytona!

Congrats sir! Im actually in Florida Locke up at the moment waiting for calmer times. The AD I bought the watch from is in Latin America so it might be a while before I manage to pick it up. However, I feel I am very lucky as I had no prior purchase history and managed to Pau a bit below retail.

Will post more pics when I receive the watch.

Cannot pick up the watch until lock down is over, but here are 2 pics the AD sent me. Interested to hear what other black dial owners have to day about the watch. Will pick it up soon hopefully.
What a coincidence! I just received the same two images from my AD in the US!

Only kidding of course. congratulations. Certainly something positive to look forward too

Very Nice - Congrats.

Not being able to pick it up makes staying at home a little tougher - hang in there
