What's the point? You post a question to a bunch of strangers and get honest replies, that's the point. He agreed to 4K because, in your own words, he doesn't know anything about it. I don't have a dog in this fight and couldn't care less that you are ripping your friend off. Hopefully, you can at least agree you are in fact doing that. You, me, and everyone else that reads this knows $4K isn't near the true value of that watch.

Actually, I may have to change my vote. Something looked off to me on the clasp etching/engraving. I pulled out a couple of my Rolex watches and took a couple of quick pictures of the clasps (apologies for the quality). I am looking at slope and distance of the lines on the right. His are parallel, mine have a slope or "hump".

The first one is the OTs Hulk (marked area red), the others are a SD50, BLRO, SKY-D. and a couple of 2020 and one 2019 Daytona. You be the judge or show me your clasps:

Both my 2020 Rolex watches the etching tapers down like your clasps - definitely not the same taper angle as the OP clasp. For what its worth.

"Taper angle", thank you, that was the word I was looking for.

The point of the response is not to be helpful to fraudsters minting fakes.

I don't think anybody here can tell you for sure. If it's from your friend that you can trust, buy it and send to RSC to get a certificate of authenticity. After that give your friend some more money for a fair price.

Finalised as far as I'm concerned. Stupid price. Stupid grandpa. Stupid friend. Three stupids. And bad etching.

If the watch turns out to be authentic, I would tell the seller what the true value is, then ask him if he's still willing to accept 4k euro.

If he isn't, then raise the offer to somewhere closer to the actual value, but with a discount because of the age and lack of box and papers.

Ooooh, got ya so it’s just this magic select few that can spot them and no one else is allowed to know what to look for cause fakers need their super secret knowledge help to make fakes. Haha. Makes since. So a forum to learn is stoped by this? Dumb?!

I agree here. You are completely taking advantage of your “friend”. Realistically, you are not friends. Stop using that term. You may be acquaintances, def not friends. Friends do not do that to one another. He doesn’t know anything about watches, so you decide to offer him 4K for a watch that easily goes for 12k? Come on man. Who needs enemies with “friends” like you.

No just a personal choice. Many others have posted the tells they look for. Focus on those if that’s the info you seek.

There are also YouTube videos and blog posts across the web. Lots of info out there.

The color and quality of the ceramic insert looks inferior to genuine Rolex.
Are you happy now? Your "stupidity" statement just proves your ignorance.

Another point to agree with. Compare the OTs insert (first pic) to my insert (2nd pic). Note the difference in "thickness" of the number 10 and the one-minute-index markers, as well as the marker at minute 15. Even accounting for the different picture sizes, they look significantly "fatter" in mine. Also, the numbers and index markers seem to extend further out to the edge of the bezel, while mine are more centered on the insert between the inner and outer edge of the bezel. Well visible at the 5-minute marker and the number "10". Lastly, quite a difference in color, or is that just the difference in surrounding light and the angle of the photo?

If it is a fake -- I'm not sure why I am spending all this cash at the AD

Bracelet to case fitting. Finish on the winding crown. Applied white gold indices are dull and lifeless. It goes on.

I was thinking more along the lines of someone old enough to have an adult grandson (i.e. OP’s “friend”). In other words, someone in his 70’s or 80’s. Hardly the Hulk demographic.
