Fully agree. What an upside down world we live in nowadays. Some customers will go great lengths just to please the dealer and allow them to buy a watch.

Ok - I’m not saying it’s right or defending the AD’s for the way they manipulate who can/can’t buy a watch from them.

But at the end of the day if you have to play a few games to get the watch you want, so what?

It’s fine to go grey for the hot SS pieces if you’ve got plenty in reserve, but for some guys (like me) each piece is a very considered choice & the difference between buying at the AD or buying grey may be the difference between having or not having that next piece.

Depends on the situation. I sold my 116500 after 18 months which I guess could cause some upset with my AD.

But...I sold it to a friend at mates rates rather than milking the second hand value, and I sold it because I bought a 116519 from my AD (so it was their fault!!).

It hasn’t damaged my relationship with them at all. If I now sold my Pepsi I would expect them to start dropping me down the list, and don’t think that would be unreasonable. However, if in ten years time I sell it then I think that would be acceptable.

You sound super confident..yet you add

"and if it was it’s absolutely disrespectful!"

Sounds like your contradicting your own logic my man, are you sure it's never happened or are you throwing in an if which means your not totally sure after all hmmm

Thats alright though man, I see your into traveling to other countries and bundling additional watches for your purchases, bet you won't come off as "disrespectful" at your AD's, good for you man! If you jump through hoops like that I'm sure they would never ask to see previous purchases anyhow hey?

Haha just listen to yourself! I threw in “maybe” it’s happened because who knows, maybe a SA has done that to “joke” with an ignorant person such as yourself! Rolex does not care about your SS purchases (clearly you have none with that original comment). I won’t come off disrespectful because I do my research.. same as if I was buying a Ferrari/Porsche like many have stated I won’t be walking in off the street asking for certain models and if you do expect a laugh! Oh but hey let’s just let our luxury SA’s insult our customers by asking to see the cheapest, entry level piece!?!?!? I’ll leave it at that... what a joke! Should I bring all 10+ SS for you to see to get another cheap watch.. very logical 👌

Those who only buy SS are not valued customers? When I go to the Chitown Boutique they always want to sell SS pieces. ADs also want to sell them in addition to other jewelry they carry. ADs want to sell their Rolex watches, period.

Please, troll elsewhere.
