I didn’t break ceramic insert, but sent off my blnr to Dallas service center in February and still waiting on it to return. The bezel was back ordered for 8 weeks. They said both needed replacement.

Ow. That sucks. :(
Always funny to read the responses from the camps. Be it my shiny watch shouldn't break, or my old shiny watch breaks less!

I know this sounds stupid but i feel strangely vindicated for creating the thread “I Hate Ceramic Bezels.”

The fact you used the word "hate" is inappropriate. Nobody said you have to buy a ceramic bezel watch. And FWIW I have seen plenty of pics of corroded aluminum bezels, cracked aluminum bezels and total color faded aluminum bezels. If Rolex didn't think ceramic was superior to aluminum, don't you think we would still be wearing aluminum? You can have it. Aluminum is for soda cans.

Why is the word hate inappropriate when referred to ceramic bezels? I really do hate ceramic bezels. Am i “bezelist?”

And i’m trying to remember if i ever said i love aluminum bezels.... nope don’t think so.

Weird how all the pro-ceramic bezel people are so quiet.

You don’t come across countless threads of shattered ceramic bezels. Sure it happens but it’s no diffrent than shattered crystals. I much prefer ceramic.

Just collect all

I got ceramic bezel, steel bezel, aluminium bezel and white gold bezel

Buy them all and watch them age

Because we’ve accepted this possibility years ago and still prefer ceramic bezels. If mine breaks, I’ll replace the bezel. Simple.

What is a Bat Girl, how does it differ from a Bat Man. For that matter how does a Bat Man differ from a GMT, excepting the bezel?

Bas, can you please show a picture of the cross section so we can see the thickness of the insert?

Most people read the first post and then comment without bothering to read the whole thread. You’ve gone one better and skipped reading even the first post. Well done, great contribution.
