There have been some wild questions asked on this forum, but I think this might be the most retarded one ever.

Keep your Rolex and add the BB to your collection.

I am out of this game - there is always something new on the horizon. For me, one thing I really like with Rolex is that they don’t change that much over the years. "Buy one, use it a lot and let it be a part of you" - this is what I think owning a Rolex should be all about. For many years I bought many different watches, actually too many. I never had the time to let them settle in - there was always something else that caught my attention. Omegas, Breitlings, IWC’s. I did many bad deals also flipping them for a fraction of what I paid for them. Now I have two "nice" watches. A BLRO and a DJ41 fluted/jubilee/blue stick. I also have a 1999 Bond Seamaster for a semi beater and some G-Shocks for heavy tasks. This year, the DJ will follow me on my vacation. It will be scratched, but that is fine.

A bit off topic all of this – but selling a Rolex for a blue BB58? Never and I am through.

No I would not sell a Rolex to buy a BB58. If I liked the BB58 , and I don't based on size, I would just add it in.

I think it's a valid question. But the answer depends on circumstance.
I've read people dump their Rolex to 'upgrade' to JLCs and Pateks.
I've also read people who sold off their collection to go low-budget like a G-shock.
Or some who switched hobbies.

What you do with your watch is your business. If you're bored with Rolex and want to trade it for a Tudor, go right ahead.

Though if that's the pattern, I don't see the Tudor staying for long either...

How many of you are selling your Rolex to get the hot new watch? How many didn't plan on getting it but are now onboard the train?
No

Same as you, held one at my AD on Thursday, wouldn't say petite, although the case measures 39.5mm. It felt substantial enough, but the shade of blue is absolutely beautiful.

I have been on the waiting list for ceramic white dial Daytona, can’t wait. Would not pay 25,000 on the grey market for it. If I spend 25000 would look at something pm.

Are you selling your Rolex to buy a BB 58 Blue?

I don’t sell to add.

That being said, the BB58 Blue was a disappointment to me. Not because it’s a bad watch but because it’s yet another variant of the Black Bay. Also, I already have the original blue Black Bay which in my opinion looks much better because of contrast between bezel and dial.
