I see what you're getting at. Given that daily wear on my watch hasn't really started making the PCLs look brushed, I don't think that will be a problem. I guess we'll see, since I don't plan on saving my watch for the next guy.

How is it strange to carry your watch in a pouch and go into a shop a couple of minutes from your workplace (from which it was purchased) and ask for it to be polished? That seems kind of like the normal path for something like this to happen. Anything other would seem extraordinary to me. Tell me how you would have proceeded?

I thought the way it went down was humorous hence the story. Otherwise I guess I've just wasted everyone's time with a boring, self aggrandizing, recount. You have my apologies for wasting your time and seeing something as humorous.

Thanks for sharing your experience Lee. Since they're authorized by Rolex I suppose they usually keep to the policy of refinishing with service only. Thankfully there's some leeway (pun intended) using the local shop vs RSC.

I enjoyed the story! I didn't take it as grandstanding. Whatever watch ends up being in that bag should at least be considered. Although, revealing a platona I'm quite sure stimulated that "high-roller alert" potential future sale on the horizon fervor. I'm sure the service was extra fine from that point on. I was offered water, caviar, a human foot stool, but alas all I wanted was a diet soda of which I got the last one. The sales guy also said I should stop in more often which I don't like to do unless I'm interested in buying something. Thanks!!!

Yes, I don't get it either. It's a simple story presented factually. I (or my Platinum Daytona) seem to be a magnet to draw disagreeables out of the woodwork. I remember in a previous thread someone one who has since been banned, asserting that the Platona was the only thing going in my life. How could some ever say such a thing to another person. What really tweaks me is that it pretty much is calling me a liar. In life with out the computer to hide behind that would be tantamount to asking someone to fight. People have died in duals due to that sort of behavior. I know it's over dramatization but unfortunately it's the truth.

This happens to be a Rolex forum where all of us show their watches and the stories that go with them.
I like to read those stories and TRF is a nice and friendly place to share thoughts about an amazing brand.
