Plausible is that you are anxious to make me wrong for whatever agenda you have. I've no idea. However it has been a factual account. And speaking of odd behavior...

Perhaps it made you happy and feel good about owning such a watch and I guess that all that counts... |

I think this kind of patina would look fantastic FWIW, so I was only saying here as a positive. |

I thought the way it went down was humorous hence the story. Otherwise I guess I've just wasted everyone's time with a boring, self aggrandizing, recount. You have my apologies for wasting your time and seeing something as humorous. |

Thanks for sharing your experience Lee. Since they're authorized by Rolex I suppose they usually keep to the policy of refinishing with service only. Thankfully there's some leeway (pun intended) using the local shop vs RSC.

I enjoyed the story! I didn't take it as grandstanding. Whatever watch ends up being in that bag should at least be considered. Although, revealing a platona I'm quite sure stimulated that "high-roller alert" potential future sale on the horizon fervor. I'm sure the service was extra fine from that point on. Did you get offered water and a Swiss chocolate? Beauty BTW with patina or without, I really love that reference! The stuff that dreams are made of! Looking forward to the pics.

Thanks for sharing. It’s your post, it’s a Rolex forum, I like to read posts about Rolex. If I don’t like a post I move on. You shouldn’t have to explain yourself in your own thread to people that are skeptical or respond with negativity for whatever reason. Look forward to seeing the pics when it comes back! So are you saying that owning a Platona is smug? If so I'm curious as to where on the Rolex scale smugness begins. One might assert it begins with not owning a Timex.

This happens to be a Rolex forum where all of us show their watches and the stories that go with them. I like to read those stories and TRF is a nice and friendly place to share thoughts about an amazing brand. If you did a search you would know that HogwldFLTR is nothing like you are insinuating.

I remember seeing Jerry Lewis, the actor/comedian, many years ago when his son was going to be on TV with his band Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Jerry's dress dress was blue jeans and a blue denim work shirt.

First of all - avoid sales reps, go to the owner whenever possible. Second, what is this pretty women? I want to go straight to this dealer with old jeans and a white tee-shirt just to say, “big mistake, huge”!
