No, if I sell it the only other rolex I would consider wearing over the Hulk is the Ceramic Daytona which is around the same price so its not much of a trade up.

I think if the Hulk breaks $35,000 one day I might reconsider though.

PM references have increased in cost porpotionately.

The days of the preowned YG SUB C @ $25k are on pause...

So the thoughts of trading Hulks for a straight trade or near straight trade are going to lead to disappointment.

Grim thought. Who the hell wants a day date?!
That would be a trade down.

I am not a big fan of Hulk. I have 2 good friends who are and have them. Happy for them that they managed to buy it at the retail price. I was offered 2-3 times the Hulk from 2011 till 2017. But did not buy it.
I am kicking myself for not buying the Sub and Batman. They could be had at some time ago.

If I had one.... I would for current price level. At the end of the day it is just a green watch.

Agree thats what Rolex watches have come today nothing more than £££££$$$$$.Once in a bygone age most bought Rolex watches to wear and enjoy for many years because they are one of the finest mechanical watches made today. But today many have jumped on the money money Rolex band waggon, buy then flip to the grey. Then many on forum moan they cannot get watches from ADs at retail, simple answer the WIS has made a rod for his/her own back, with relentless talking about value ££$$, investment this investment that.

Unless they, you know, buy watches because they like them.

Hard for a lot of people to understand around here these days.

It’s funny reading these posts. The only crazy prices I see are for 2020 or 2019 brand new Hulks. Second hand versions from before 2019 are selling at the same price or maybe €1000 more as before the discontinuation. Just check Chrono24, so many Hulks available at around €15.000. So trading for a Daytona or Day Date is a little bit too much to ask ;)

It seems prices are climbing by the day, maybe you looked yesterday LOL. I'd say it's safe to say a majority are in the mid $20G range. I only see a couple under 20, even here on TRF. The real question isn't what they are listed at, but how many are selling at these prices. If people are actually paying those prices for a SS Sub, I wonder what they think the price is going to top out at? Some have really high hopes apparently. I'll be keeping mine.

Those of you saying spending 20k on a SS Rolex is outrageous and that the Hulk wont sell at these prices need to realize that the same could be said about the Daytona -C... mass produced ss watch AND currently in production. Daytonas are going for what, 26k these days? People are still paying... it shows there are buyers at these prices, so a discontinued Hulk fetching 20k is not that crazy. But I certainly wouldnt pay it

Bought mine in 2012 with a 12% discount. It was bought to commemorate the birth of my daughter and was my first Rolex. I would not sell it for anything.

Even without the sentimental attachment though I wouldn't sell. It is too good a watch and would be far too hard/expensive to replace when the inevitable sellers remorse kicked in.

Tempting but no. It’s too cool and is a perfect fit in my collection. Too many black divers - it’s a nice contrast.

I don’t care what anyone on this thread says the only person that wouldn’t sell their hulk for 35K is someone that’s a gazillionair and 35K is chump change to them. It doesn’t matter because there’s no way it’s going to get that high. Not a chance. Not in less you dig up Paul Newman and strap it to his wrist for a couple years and then dig him up again and then go to sell it. LOL

I would be interested to know what the final selling price for this thing will be after all the hype dies down. Either way it will never go to retail again. Probably around 16K-18K would be my guess.

I had my Hulk engraved on the caseback when I picked it up from AD at MRSP - "Don't ever sell me you Bipolar WIS".

So, I am not sure I am selling mine.

I am a far cry from a gazillionar, as I live off of a retirement pension for now. My parents gave me my LV as a graduation present when I got my master's degree. I wouldn't sell my watch for 50G....can't buy or replace memories.

Paul is spot on. Watch it happen. Artificial price rises to the max mostly done by the dealers and then the individual sellers just follow those prices. Wont be sustainable. The frenzy is still fresh. Give it 4-5 weeks and this is going back way way way down.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26Tz7azhzf0

Anyway so who still interested in direct swaps? My LV for either a DD40, RG GMT2, Full Gold Sub/Gold Daytona - I dont really care which model? This is NOT a sales thread. PM me if your interested and if you are I will open a proper sales thread so mods I will follow the rules. :)

I got one with discount from my AD in 2014 and sold in 2018. Then I felt regret and my AD got me a new one at list price in the same year. Rarely wear it since then but it's a keeper.

Gentleman, basic observation with even the smallest amount of intelligence of economics, versus greed are two completely different things. If you buy anything in life that you enjoy and then suddenly overnight for whatever reason it becomes two or three or four times what you paid for it there’s absolutely nothing wrong with cashing in. It doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy the hobby. It flabbergasts me that some of you are still confused as to why people discuss prices on objects that cost so much money. It doesn’t matter what the hobby is. When it comes to things of this nature prices are always a major topic of discussion. Especially when an item like this jumps significantly in pricing. You guys would have a heart attack if you saw what’s going on with the shooting enthusiast hobby. Talk about pricing increases and unobtainable product.

Now if we ever have a massive economic crash then all these pieces will come back down to retail prices and most I’d not all of these pricing topics will disappear. Most people will be able to get what pieces they want (those left that can afford them) and we can go back to just incoming and steering wheel threads.
