Adam, you have some beautiful vintage pieces in your collection. I especially like the Centregraph.

Thanks, Jim. This one is going to be a long restoration process. First we had to decide on how authentic the finished product would be. 100%!!! Then it was "we can restore the case, but the movement is a rusted wreck. Which way do we go with this?" We discussed options regarding the movement. Replace it with a more current and robust one that would still be sort of accurate to the watch? Nope. The watch has to retain the original movement to be authentic. Then it was a matter of "which way do you want me to go with this movement? My recommendation is to replace a few of the ancient worn out bushings with more modern and robust jewels." OK, lets go that way. Bob's currently working on the movement, and the next decision will be which hands do we want to use. They have to be attractive, they have to complement the watch, but most importantly they have to be historically correct. Should be a pretty cool watch for Nancy to wear on a stout silver chain around her neck some day.

WOW!!. I had one exactly kike that one, without the word Daytona on the dial. . Bought it used in the early '80s, but watch was from 1971, I think.
If I only had it now...

The serial on mine puts it either late 70 or early 71, so that's a pretty cool coincidence! Out of curiosity, what happened to yours? Did you sell it? |

I had exactly the same, but black face white small dials, WITHOUT the Daytona. I bought that in 1971 when I turned 18. I sold it after 3 years, because I was tired of the non date and the daily winding. I had to change the neck and the crown 3 times due to wear, screw-unscrew, and I was happy that I managed to sell it ! I never loved this watch, how stupid I was !!!!
