I visited the local AD last week and it was exactly the same. They shared that business has never been better and "everything" was sold over the Holidays. As someone mentioned, they were anticipating a slow season with the pandemic, but they were crazy busy. They hit all their sales numbers for the year despite being closed for a month or two.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with year-end financials and they have to "meet their annual goal."

Conversely, I visited my closest AD right before the New Year set in, and the cases were fuller than I have seen them in almost two years. Granted, it was not the high demand pieces, but there was a 40mm YG Sub, a few TT DJ41s, YMIIs, among others. Meanwhile, another AD says they have a waiting list a mile long on DJs alone.
