the Black Sub with date, is the most boring watch I own. The Daytona white dial is my favourite and the nicest steel they make IMO. ( Daytona Zenith )

Sub is king of Rolex (and possibly all sports watches) for me from an esthetic perspective. It’s what I think of when I think of watches in general. Second place was a tossup when considering Pepsi vs Daytona…Daytona by a narrow margin for me.

Is it fundamentally boring, or is it because of how popular it is though? I think if you had never seen one before, let alone be affected by how popular it is, you would not think it's boring. At least I believe that's why most people consider it boring. The ubiquity.

So, looking at the results, can we sat that (in general)

Subs and Daytonas strongly appeal to different people
Most people think GNTs are OJ

#1 Panda no question, the case size is perfection

#2 Pepsi on Jubilee

#3 tie between The Kermit and the classic No date Sub

I rank them all about the same which is why I think the 124060 is a steal relatively speaking.

No 1 sub because I love the uncomplicated face and it’s just class.
No 2 GMT love the splash of colour for added interest
No 3 Daytona - just does nothing for me, just a bit all too busy !

GMT—Love the the complication and I love the BLNR shade of blue with black. The super jubilee is out of this world. My money is where my mouth is on this one (or you can call it bias).

Sub—Such a classic and so versatile. Would love to add it to the collection some day.

Daytona—I was a chronograph guy when I was 17, I thought subdials were so cool. Not sure what changed but the racing history doesn’t appeal to me. That said if I were to ever get a chrono, the Daytona would be it. Looks great.

Purely from an aesthetics perspective, I'd choose BLRO/BLNR then the Sub, and finally the Daytona.

But honestly, from a practical perspective, I'd choose the Submariner #1, then the GMTS, followed by the Daytonas.

Ghost > Pepsi/Batman > Sub

Datejust sits in between. Eg. Some may value the DJ41 blue fluted jubilee more than a sub. SkyD would be on par or above Batman.

I’m undecided about panda. I’d rate it the same as Pepsi but understand more people want it. The Batman is the quintessential watch. Versatile, splash of colour and a wonderful daily.

These are for the stainless steel models only. The black Sub can be 116610LN or the 126610LN, or their respective no date counterparts, depending on your preference.

SUB, GMT. Daytona does not make it for me unless the old Paul Newman design.

For me it would be:

1. Sub (non-date)
2. Daytona (Panda)
3. GMT

Reasoning, I love the elegant simplicity of the Sub and have an aversion to cyclops no matter how synonymous they may be. Daytona is the most fantastic and best looking chronograph ever and I never gelled with the raised crystal of the GMT and cyclops again. But only my views and opines as looks and wants are subjective.

Own all 3 so I will go by wrist time :

Sub > GMT > Daytona

I will say I wore my Daytona more 5 years ago when I eyes were a bit better!
