....who is buying up loads of Rolexes from a single AD and selling them on to his family and friends....?

Ooooookay....

He wasn’t selling to them, AD did.
The point is the poor customer experience, which is ruining the brand.
No one wants to be treated like sh** after spending loads of money as a customer. The negative way R is treating AD’s and how rudely AD’s are treating their customers… this is the problem that needs to change IMO.
But maby the world has changed and no one gives a damn how companies are treating us..?

I used to be a long time member here years ago, but good point anyway.

Yes. A boycott of Rolex. Fight the tyranny of a luxury goods producer unable to keep up with demand.

It’s like Gandhi, but for rich people.

Watch out, Hermès! The Birkin boycott will be next!

Such a meaningful cause. Forget about feeding the third world. Let’s make Rolex pay for insulting this high roller. How dare this AD not move him to the front of the line every time he requests a watch they’ve already sold him!

How exactly is Rolex “poor customer experience” “affecting the brand”? Have the watches become easier to acquire? Are AD display cases suddenly full because customers are fed up? Have discounts started again? Two guys boycotting Rolex because one got his feels hurt is not a movement.

And the whole ‘I’m boycotting Rolex except for the one I’m not getting rid of’ is a textbook definition of the variable moral compass.

I remain unconvinced by the histrionic kabuki theater.

For that matter was the JC bought through his mate as well?

Hmm, you mean that piece is special? Meaningful and an heirloom piece? or is it just one of a million mass produced like you mentioned earlier

Thanks for sharing your story. I owned a couple of Omega watches in the past but they didn't last.
For me Rolex stays my favourite brand (together with Tudor, Panerai, Breitling or Cartier)
