It's about +3 to +4 per day.

The only reason I serviced it was that I was offered a free service for my 16610 as a "sweetener" by the AD when I bought my first PP, about 10 years ago.

How about your 16610? How's that doing?

Great story, a lot of history and memories with that one. The journey continues! Thanks for sharing.

I’m afraid your watch has been polished. The telltale sign is the logo on the crown, which is not crisp at all. It is quite worn, and the detail is missing. Also, the 16610 never came with chamfers like that, which are too close to the lugholes.

Um I've owned it since new and I never had it polished.. actually the chamfers is all original and period correct and the lug holes is nowhere close to the lugs.. It's the angle of the pic. If I take a side profile pic you can see the lug holes is nowhere near the lugs. Plus there is many collectors/experts on here that commented on this post, they would know... Thanks for your fake expertise..

Edit: since I read MrGoat's post below if you're talking about Mr.padi's post #27 with his sea dweller then yes, has been polished as he stated a few times and that's not my watch..

I think he was referring to Padi’s SD as you didn’t post a pic where the logo on the crown was visible.

Reason I said that cause padi writes it has been polished a few times and serviced on his post, so don't know why he would say that about his post. He didn't quote his pic also and posted on my thread.. I thought he was talking about the logo on the clasp..

I do have a question about the Rolex Wrist Measure which I've never seen before. What was the difference between using that and say, tearing a strip of newspaper? I found the instructions quite comical. Surely, the tape would have the measurements on it? Or am I missing something? I can see why they did away with that.

There is perforated pieces on it you rip off and somewhat measurements that looks like a ruler with no numbers. I guess they would lay the watch on the ruler and and know how many links to take off..

Great watch and a lovely story to go with it, hopefully you and your watch spend many more years enjoying life together.

Not quite sure why the anti ceramic brigade feel the need to pipe up on this thread, just enjoy the content and your watches

That looks absolutely fantastic. I've got a 1996 that I received when a step-parent passed away, and I've been obsessing about the lugs. Mine are sharp and crisp, but the beveled edges have been nearly completely removed after a service by Rolex. To case restoration or not to case restoration that is the question...

Send to rolliworks. I heard they the best in bringing chamfers back to factory

Good time keeping is not necessarily an indicator that your movement is healthy......plus your seals will likely have deteriorated to the point where they are no longer effective. certainly worth getting it serviced. Great watch and thanks for sharing.

Absolutely superb but how have you managed to keep the green case back sticker intact. The sticker from my 16600 started to peel off fairly early on after I bought it new from the AD.

Great looking watch and I absolutely love the packaging and included materials of that era.
