I would hope that hardly anybody would have to use the warranty during the 5 year period. If it was a common thing, the product wouldn't be very good.

As to "5 years doesn't seem long enough"

A warranty is for manufacturing defects, not wear and tear repairs. If you break it during the 5 years, or any other length of time, this would not be warranty repairs.

I did once with respect to a 11613 (2007 stainless and gold Sub). It had a small metallic"fleck" that materialized from what I can only figure was the movement, possibly through the date opening. The RSC quickly and easily remedied.

Never used any Rolex warranty in over twenty years of collecting. That’s why I’m a Rolex man

Never in 30 years. That’s saying a lot for Rolex quality.

Twice, my DJ36 has the known issue and my OP36 has something weird going on when manual winding.

The DJ36 will head back into RSC when they reopen here in Sydney.

Once with a 14 month old DJ running very fast. It came from the AD running fast but I was too lazy to send it in right away.

I have for my Black Daytona C. The winding got super gritty until it locked up and couldn't wind it. Sent it back to RSC via AD and got it resolved! Issue arose within 6-8mos. of ownership.

Quality manufacturers have a warranty rate under 2%. My guess is that Rolex is likely around 1% or a 1 in 100 chance of warranty issue.

I have purchased 5 new Rolex’s and never kept longer than two years. No warranty issues.

I’ve used it twice for my SD43 for timing issues. It was running slow by 12 seconds off per day. I dropped it off in Dallas just before COVID last year after about a year of being frustrated with it loosing time. I had to return it again for the same issue, which manifested again only a few months after receiving it back. It’s back with me and has only been in my hands again for about 2 months. Time will tell if they fully addressed the issue this time. Fingers crossed.
Regards,

I always do. At about 4.5 years I send the watch in and say it is not running within spec. Free inspection, pressure test, and sometimes a free service. You’re welcome

Sadly I have a history of being hard on watches, I accidentally dropped my 37mm Yacthmaster on the bathroom floor which was unfortunately marble. The YM was less than a year old so RSC took pity on me as the watch was a dream watch. I had worn my 75090 Tudor Submariner daily for 30 years and needed a new watch.

Never on a new watch. I did sent my TOG back under a RSC 2 year service warranty, as I could not hack the movement. This was away about 10 days if I recall, and has worked perfectly since, and is now well out of warranty.
