Then I’m sure, as a friend, he will understand…..and as a SA, he certainly knows the bleak situation. If he, or the dealer, would hold ill will, that’d be absolutely ridiculous!

Don't ask, don't tell. Until the AD will take you into the safe area and let you look at the inventory or look at the sales log for Rolex watches it is all a game of deceit and manipulation. The AD will never tell you this information or show you what they have in the safe or have received in merchandise. I don't know how the AD's and specifically the SA's, lie to customers again and again and can maintain any sibilance of personal integrity or dignity. I know deceit is the industry standard and starts with the manufacturers lack of transparency. Some will say it is necessary to soften the blow to customers that don't qualify for a purchase even though they have the money to buy the item. How about, "Yes I have the watch you want, no, I will not sell it to you", for whatever the reason. Too difficult and it creates a form of animosity on a lot of levels. Buy what you want, where you can find it for a fair market price and move on from the relationship BS with an AD. You are too late for that game unless you can buy in. If you had the money we would not be having this conversation as you would just buy the watches and move on. Difficult position we WIS are in and it does not sit well with me on a lot of levels.

Can you imagine if people would put this much concern into their marriages. The divorce rate would probably be zero.
