Thanks for all of the feedback.
I’ve decided on the option of doing an additional separate fly out trip, as to transport the watches. Extra hassle and money, but they will never leave my sight. And I can transport from box to box same day. |

How are you going to pack the watches?

Use Ferrari or Malca for shipping.
Easiest way possible. Armed guard picks up, and armed guard delivers fully insured. Will cost less than 1k unless you got a 5m collection moving, then a little more. |

I think it is important to use a "shell game" approach that you can monitor from the air, much like when Edward Norton was moving his gold bars in the movie "The Italian Job".

I feel the idea of getting a safe deposit box where you are moving from, then flying back after the road trip to retrieve them seems best here. Just be sure they’re insured before putting them in the safe deposit box at the bank.
Good luck with the move! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Watches and papers should always be with you. Boxes can be sent by mail.

Never leave something you can't afford to lose in a hotel room - second only to never put anything in checked luggage that you might really need or want at the other end of the trip. I once had a $50 block of pink Himalaya salt stolen out of a checked bag on a direct flight - apparently some moron figured it was some kind of precious stone

Liquidate the collection at the height of the market and take the cash.
