As an investment, it may or may not hold its value at these prices. As a watch, its 10K timepiece. Personally, there is a limit to how much I will risk wearing on my wrist at any given time. Just my opinion.

I find this thread subject, "market update" and such, so gauche. As if this is CNBC or Bloomberg TV.

The Hulk is a nice watch, a little flair for the sub. Someone please post a picture of a beat up Hulk that has lived a good life attached to its owner to take this discussion in another direction.

You used to be in love with the Hulk but then you sold it, because you were over it. I loved your welcome to the club gif that you used to post!!!

Yes indeed, it happens brother. Well said

Let’s look at it logically. The hulk is undervalued right now. It’s a Steel sports rolex; possibly the most iconic watch on the planet; the only submariner ever to have a green dial and it’s discontinued. Need I say more. It also was the watch that started this green trend amongst the watch industry as a whole - Patek, AP and others all followed suit shortly after.

Here ya go. Purchased since 2013. And my second one as my first was stolen from me at gun point. Doesn’t look too beat up here but it def has its fair share of nicks on the case and bracelet and such. Don’t baby it or take it off to do yard work/pool cleaning etc. Just had it serviced and left unpolished and replaced bezel ring due to nicks on the ring. It’s so sharp now again. Still my favorite watch.

Ps- insure your watches.

Nice move and keeping it unpolished. Looks beautiful!

Enjoy!

This is madness and I own one.

Do I think it’s worth current prices? Nope.

At the end of the day, it’s just a nice watch. Mine is well worn…here it is on a (gasp) Rubber B, in my drivers suit, at the race track, and drinking from a double rainbow, in an iconic red cup.

And to think, I picked mine up in 2013 at discount!

Sold mine for 7k a few years ago. Didn’t warm up to it at all. Hated the fat lugs. Didn’t know it would have been an investment piece lol. It is what it is. No one could have predicted.

But a Tiffany homage dial on a OP41 isn't tacky to you?

YG Sub with the blue dial is a classic at least.

I agree with you that it could come off as tacky, especially for a guy. I still love it though. Maybe I'll feel different in a couple of years, who know.

Yellow gold sub, tacky on an entire different level, my friend.

I have the worst prediction skills when it comes to watches. Every watch I’ve sold has gone up in value after I sell it.

What we need is a Daytona and Hulk ticker on the bottom of the page I totally agree with you. I much prefer to discuss watches and not so much the cost, as I have seen on the forum. I have only been a member for a short time, but in this short span I have seen more and more posts about “What’s the value?”, or “Look at how much this is listed for.” To each their own I guess, but I really find myself more interested in horological history and value more so than market value.

Honest to god, extremely. But while tacky, your light and composition and the work you do and create in post is always beautiful.

I will say that the 16618LB, aside from it's inferior tinn y bracelet, can be somewhat charming, especially with a tropical or slightly purple dial. Or a four digit 1680 with a nipple dial. Those are cute.

Here are some of my tacky photos. . That blue and gold bezel really bothers me

I know all the $$$£££ talk is upsetting a lot of members but the problem is you combine a beautiful, and well executed, iconic wristwatch with an increasing net worth via the value of the piece and it's a hell of an addictive combination.

Caution - The value of your investments can fall as well as rise

Most of us who originally purchased the watch several years ago didn't buy it for investment purposes. I just think it's truly a subjectively cool reference!!
