Excellent shots guys. The watches do look very distinct on the wrist. Quite unique each in their own way.

I don’t own either yet, but tried both on and the full RG is in my opinion stunning. The TT didn’t feel as refined to me. That said, I know I’d wear a TT more than a full RG one simply because of the versatility.
But if we are talking simply in terms of preference, RG gets my vote, no doubt.

As others have said, the TT is the nicest TT in their catalogue and I'd say yes if offered one. However, if given the choice, it would be the full gold for me. It's just dreamy to look at and more together in it's appearance.

TT is surprisingly more interesting to look at.

Sure, when it has a sunburst dial and a bright/dark bezel insert like the 16713… the modern one doesn’t have the same charm in my opinion.

I have to say that black dial on the new one is such a miss….

That is a beautiful piece, and that dial should be on the Root Beer today

Apples and oranges, can't compare steel with gold. Rough material vs noble material.

Let's level the playing field and imagine for a minute that TT is in fact platinum and gold, instead of steel and gold. Also, let's say prices of gold and platinum are very similar.

Which one would I pick? Two-tone, without a doubt.

I am blessed to have a decent Rolex PM collection but always wanted the full RG version of the GMT. I think your pics have pushed me over the edge to make sure I include one!

The only answer to this question is :

The TT here is like buying the V4 or V6 version of the car when you can't afford (justify its all the same) the V8 version whereby you clearly know that V8 is the better choice but keep on struggling with regret or justifying yourself and the world that what you bought is wiser , smarter with same seats / AC / better mileage... By deep down inside you KNOW V8 is better and hence my choice is RG.

TT all the way. If possible, gives it more of a utilitarian look than RG.

So, people who buy a 911 GTS do it because they can't afford or justify the GT3 or the Turbo? Or is it because to them the GTS is the sweet spot? It might be the best of both worlds between a plain Jane 911 and a harsh and uncomfortable GT3 or an over the top Turbo too powerful to have fun with on the road? Do you not think that some people who have the money for the GT3 or the Turbo can still chose the GTS?

My reference point of V8 V6 V4 was for muscle cars i.e Mustang , Challenger , Camaro where the comfort levels are almost same in each version. Just like the above watch they look and function almost identical except the heft of RG

Except the look is not almost the same, the TT Rootbeer is much more beautiful, and interesting than the full gold in my opinion. usually full gold versions are better looking than TT, this is what makes the TT Rootbeer special. I can afford any gold Rolex, but would never consider a full gold Rootbeer, yet I lusted over the TT until I got it. The saying that if you can't afford the full gold then go for TT doesn't apply for this TT Rootbeer, just like it doesn't apply for most steel Rolex. The TT rootbeer is in the same club as the in demand steel sports Rolex now.

I am not specially a gold fan, but I prefer them to a TT. Definitely TT are not for me.

Here’s my 126711. It’s been getting more wrist time lately having languished unworn in the safe since buying it from the AD in 2018.
