I know it could handle it, but a Sub isn’t really a tool watch anymore. It’s a $15k piece of jewelry. Many of us respect it as such.

Just like many of us would not take a brand new Range Rover to Moab and risk getting gravel up in the tire wells.

I used to swim regularly with my 1675 GMT - not deep diving or anything, but down to around 12-16 feet. That's why I bought a Rolex Oyster watch - so that, within reason, I could go anywhere with it. I never had any problems.

Stan.

Use it. I have gone swimming and snorkeling with my 10 year old Omega Speedmaster which does not have the deep water certification like a Sub.

I guess the only potential issue is that bash it against a rock somehow. Otherwise the Sub is in its element underwater.

I don't know, but going through a shark's digestive system could harm the watch.

Protecting sapphire crystal with tempered glass. OK.

Like wanting to protect your kevlar vest with a t-shirt.

I think I might avoid the OP's questions in future.

Oh boy!
OP, Perhaps your Submariner would be best to have ALL stickers back on and displayed at the AD.

What’s next? “ Is it safe to expose my Rolex to direct sunlight? “

Just to be clear; my Submainers were way too small to swim in. Silly question.

Who is braver?

Those who swim with their Submariner? Or those who admit on TRF to overly-babying their watches?

i do enjoy reading threads like this one....i laugh and laugh at the stupidity!!!!...

ohhh..my apology to this person....

i want to ask a few questions before i leave...

will you be wearing the Rolex on your wrist or will you be carrying it in its original box?

If on the wrist, your okay!

If in the box, put in waterproof bag and you will be okay!

now, here is another question....leather strap?

Be careful, I bought a watch that said you could swim with it. Apparently this is only true if you can already swim without it. I learnt he hard way.
