Just turned down a two-tone explorer.

Easy pass…

Spent a lot of time telling them how thankful I was for the look.

Kind of impossible to line any brands lineup from top to bottom…

I’m jonesing for an OP41 yellow dial, but still haven’t seen one

Otherwise, I’d pass on everything else at this point

I would not be interested in a Datejust, Cellini, Yacht Master 1 or 2. Day Date (except for a couple of particular models that I think are likely to appreciate in value). PM Sub or GMT.

Any SS Sub variant/GMT or Daytona would be an obvious buy without question. PM Daytona as well. OP in desired color only (was offered a 41 in color I did not like and turned it down). (I don't understand anyone turning down a SS Daytona...even if not a fan of it...which I am....you can use it to trade for a piece you do like)

Is their any rolex model you wouldn’t buy from your AD at retail price?

Cellini, Datejust, OP, Yachtmaster 2 or anything two tone.

Cellini. I really think they missed the boat on not providing SS options with that model. I’m ok with the OP at it’s price point.

Will only buy what I want. Would skip the whole DD40/DJ41 lines. They do not look good on my 6.5-inch wrist.

I only want to purchase watches (regardless of source) that I want to wear, so for me nothing in full YG just because it’s not my style (exception being a green dial Daytona…the green on YG is a really striking combo). Same for anything RG or TT with the possible exception of a bluesey. Also anything 36mm and under (too big a guy for a watch that small).

Any watch that I would expect to wear and keep. The list is long.

Sub and Date Just are the only Rolex watches I would buy. Owning a Sub is very personal to me. The Date Just is another watch I could see having a personal attachment to.

I'm not in it to flip it but honestly....anyone who turns down a white Daytona 116500 or a gold meteorite Daytona or a John Mayer because they don't really like them on a personal level....is just turning down the opportunity to make too much gains on a trade for a piece they do like. Refusing a watch that is immediately worth many times what you can get it for because you're not a fan of that particular model....well that's a bit like refusing to buy a 50 dollar bill for 20 dollars because you think Grant was a bad president (he was).

or its just giving the next person on the “list” the opportunity to buy it at msrp
if its a watch they really love and cant afford grey market prices for

I would not buy a Datejust with a blue dial again. Every time I look at him, I feel so disgusted with myself than ever before. But a Rolex is like a tattoo, it's hard to get rid of, and the ugliest ones bring tears of pain and despair out of your eyes ...

The only reason an in demand Rolex might be hard to get rid of is because you know you will regret it down the road.

Personally, not interested in any right now. But I guess I'd consider picking one up for a loved one. But I have zero interest in flipping.

At the moment, I think the ONLY thing I’d buy if offered at RRP would be a steel Sky Dweller. The rest I either simply don’t like, or they have the 32xx movement which I’m currently avoiding like the plague.

It certainly makes for a nice easy time for me in Rolex-land these days! No knee pads required, or boxes of donuts to buy, or rare whisky’s to source for grovelling and sucking up to ADs. It’s very liberating.

Pretty much anything other than an Explorer 124270, possibly a green OP 41 or 36. I’m really not interested in any other models.

Yes. I already have the Submariner I really want. If they offered me a silver OP I'd take it, but there's no other model I'm currently interested in.
