personally i think its spot on. Agree steel will be better as for me this would be a daily wearer. Flys under the radar and only the real connoisseurs would know what this is.

If they do a steel version and it’s 25k or less, I’m all over it. Though I’m assuming it (like this gold one) would be boutique only, and my VC history/connection is via an AD, so I’m assuming I’d have no chance at all.

eBoutique. Tell them your history and talk to them about your AD not having access. They can get hot pieces too.

How likely is it that they will launch a SS later this year?

Kinda hard to think they won’t do it in steel, now that they’re tooled up and have done all the r&d. But who knows with these guys. They don’t seem to make decisions based on prevailing trends—at least not as much as most other brands. |

Bracelet could be amazing but the rest of the watch looks tired and uncool unless you are in your 20s dressing up retro. If you are middle aged… you’ll regret it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wanted to like the 222, like everyone else. Very surprised some proclaim the 222 was the release of the year, but hey I love opposing opinions… keeps things interesting. |

Definitely not something I would buy for its looks. Can’t get over the movement choice either. Fortunately won’t be a problem as they aren’t readily available I’m sure. Much prefer the VCO ultra thin white gold from a few years back.

tried one in person. It's got a little subtleness about it. The gold is slightly mild, and less bling. The size, also smaller than modern sizes. I think it's a beautiful watch. But that price is a bit steep.
at 37mm, I can't see why one would prefer the 222 over a green dial with diamonds 15551or. |

I just don't like the "overly" retro design of the 222. When it first came out in W&W, I was hearing people just fall over backwards for this one. Bark & Jack sounded like he was going to get a heart attack.
I just don't get it. It just looks like someone got daddy's watch from the '70s. One person's opinion. Obviously, seems like I'm in the minority. |

That's where I'm at. I told them for the price I'll take the gemset Daytona on oysterflex. Even within VC the rose gold blue dial 4500 is so much more watch for less than this $69,000.

It would be like Patek bringing back the Beta 21 or the 3604 as an exercise in nostalgia. |

The whole point of the 222 being in the historiques collection is that it retains as much as possible for the original .
It’s not meant to compete against the 15551or as they are different watches, even though they are both 37mm anniversary pieces. Nothing in the historiques collection is priced without a premium. The Royal oak doesn’t have exquisite finishing, totally lost with that comment. What VC did need to do was put in a different rotor now it’s open case back. 222 will divide opinion for those that don’t like it. The OS Ultra thin is what you really want.
