New Rolex Skydweller...Ugh

I always question whether or not I could wear one of those on my 7.25” wrists. I wear a 42mm Seamaster that has a lug-to-lug span of 50mm. It looks fine, but I sort of made up my mind that I’m never getting another watch again that big.

I wish I could pull it off. It's one of the best looking watches out there.

I have a 7.25 inch wrist and own a white gold skydweller. I think it looks a little too big on my wrist. I also find it very uncomfortable. It actually left a bruise on the top of my hand when I wore it out to a concert one night.

Should fit you perfectly. How did you manage the bruise?

I have the same wrist size and found the SkyD even more comfy than my SD43.

I feel like the Skydweller is like a DJII after weight training. I really loved the 1st gen WG black dial with Arabic numerals. After they switched them all to stick indices I lost all interest.

I've bought watches that I tried on at the store and later, days, maybe weeks, I decided that I just couldn't wear it.

It happens to the best of us.

OP, I’m 5/9.5 and 185 also. My wrist is slightly more than 7 inches. After wearing my Deep Blue for a few minutes, I forget it’s larger than my other watches. Very comfortable!!

I'm 2,000 lbs and only Cuban link necklaces fit on my wrist, so I'm not a good benchmark.

7.25-7.5” wrist and I love the skydweller…but its a big ole watch. If you don’t love it then pass on it.

I would have thought Rolex could reduce the size of the case by removing the little month indicator on the outer edge and simply have one of the rectangular indices go occluded red each month. This would remove 2mm off the 42mm case, (the date could be moved) but who am I to say???
Actually, I find the watch and the dial very clever, the 'hour' off centre ring and the way the dial is split into two without there being any visible joining strips across between the outer dial and the inner hour dial!
One thing I don't like is the fluted bezel, it could easily be plain with perhaps light milled edge?

We're a whiny bunch!

I think it's amazing watch. Most people would probably think "That's a Datejust" and not give it a second glance.

Black dial version for me!!

(Random web pic...I can only dream )

Agreed. It’s grown on me quite a bit. I did get a chance to try it on recently and it was simply too big for my wrist. It is also thicker too but not too bad. For GMT function, the GMT II suits me much better.

Never wanna knock a fellow SkyD fan, I own a couple, but that does look a tad huge on your wrist.

But so what. Wear it with pride. I don’t have Popeye wrist myself

Had both color, and yes it is a chunky watch regardless color dial imo, love the complication but NEVER like the hefty size. Wore daytona most of the time. I wish Rolex would make a 39mm or 40mm SkyD
