Loved the watch itself but was scared off by its stated 44.25 mm diameter. Went to try it on and it fit near perfectly. It's been my favorite watch ever since.

At first I was not sure about a modern 321 with a ceramic bezel (vs aluminum), straight lugs (vs twisted) and a sapphire crystal (vs hesalite). However, seeing the quality and beauty of this watch in person and having it on the wrist I immediately saw each of those changes as preferable. Omega nailed it.

The 116519 WG Daytona OF.

I strongly disliked this watch when first released (2017?). Every time I saw a pic of it I couldn’t help but imagine the Raiders logo (American football reference).

Over time though, I saw a few in the wild on peoples wrists and I thought they looked really good on them. Had a chance to buy in 2020 and am very happy I did. It’s a really beautiful and versatile watch. Sporty and dressy.

I still prefer a full bracelet but it’s a great watch to have if you have a collection. Wouldn’t want it to be my one and only though.

Was never a fan of TT watches. Purchased a CHNR. Still not a fan and trying to swap with my AD for a Sky-Dweller. Should've went with my instincts.

Purchased a DSSD JC. I have the size to pull it off but the watch was way too top-heavy and tall. No longer in my collection. Appreciate the watch but seemed like a huge chunk of steel which happened to have watch hands placed inside of it as an afterthought.

The I Didn’t Like It At First, But Now I Own It (and Love It) Thread

Didn’t really like the look of the YM2 from photos I’d seen over the internet.

Then my AD happened to have 3 iterations of it out on display (WG, TT & SS) .

Tried on the SS YM2. The rest is history.

It is now my favourite watch by a country mile.

I’ll second snowflake hands. I didn’t like them in photos at all because they looked clunky, but when I tried on my black Pelagos those hands sealed the deal for the purchase. They’re so easy to read with only the briefest of glances.

The Vacheron Overseas. I always thought the case looked unnecessarily elongated and it felt like a distant third in the Holy Trinity stack up. Now that I own the silver dial, I love it and it’s one of my favorite watches.

I also disliked all Rolex at one point, especially the Explorer 1. I now own a bunch of Rolexes and the 214270 is my favorite watch. Go figure…

BB36. Used to think it was a bit ugly but now it’s maybe my favourite.

This one. Now my favorite piece. Was looking for a Tudor sub about 12 years ago when this was presented instead and I had to have it.

Mine is the opposite. Loved it but once I got it was disappointed. Never the other way around. I don't buy unless it is love at first sight.

Hulk.
I used to scoff at it, but now it is my daily.
I have owned so many other Rolex models, but Hulk is most fun to wear.

All of Rolex honestly. I remember thinking the 16710 Pepsi was so ugly and then I wore one in 2004-ish and was instantly entranced. I am so grateful I bought it before they were all gone.

Also never thought I'd wear a solid gold Rolex and well, we know how that goes (breathes heavily). Otherwise? the 116660. Thought would be too big. Held an exhibition model, wore it, got offered one a week later and decided not to wait for the new one and bought it right away. Amazing object!!

Beautiful! My favorite thing about this watch is that the hands are white gold that has been painted black!
