It's only in forums like this where the DJ takes a backseat. In the real world, it is very highly rated. It's an icon, a classic. One of the most recognized designs in the industry, esp w/ Fluted bezel.

For me the fluted S/S DJ2 is the most underrated Rolex, loads of presence on the wrist bigger than the "sports" 40mm models with a much broader dial, yet lower in profile so easier to wear and offers great value against the DJ41 in the second hand market.

Agreed. When I had a DJ2 it would get the most compliments out of my collection.

I only sold it because it never fit well on me. It’s fairly large. But if you can pull it off it’s a great watch.

Not the best photo as it is difficult to capture rose gold color and sundust dial with a phone camera. Anyways, wore this one today.

I've been rocking a gold SubC lately, so I wanted to be under the radar today. The DJII is perfect. Funny thing is I've now had 2 DJ41s and sold both. For some reason the proportions just didn't work on me.

This is my favorite one... And if I had to keep only one watch out of my collection, this would be it.

Such a great watch, so many configurations, so individual.

How is it possible to underrate a watch that shares so much in common with virtually every other Rolex in the catalog?

The DateJust is merely underappreciated by a woefully, ill-informed segment of the watch-buying public.
