No issues with radiation but there are potential issues with magnetic fields from radiology equipment. Good luck with the treatment and the disease; praying for both your full recoveries.

Your health and recovery are far more important, and I truly wish you a full and speedy recovery. On the watch front, I don't believe a mechanical watch would be affected. However, it could be that if a radioactive substance is being used to treat the cancer, and not a beam of charged particles, some of the material may get loose and attach or adhere itself to your watch. If that is the case, just to be cautious, I might just not wear the watch during the procedure, or , if your watch is highly WR, you can wash your watch later, again just in case.

Thank you everyone for the kind replies. They are appreciated. I will give updates as they are available. In the meantime I will enjoy this forum to keep my mind off things and as someone suggested, may start shopping for a new watch to celebrate the occasion when I get the all clear from my oncologist.

This puts the saying "so many watches, so little time" in a whole new light. Happy to say my wife of 38 years is my rock. She has been just great and supportive threw all this. Maybe I will have her and my 2 boys pick one out for me. It would make the watch even more special.
