The Psychedelic Furs.

I was 16 in 1984 when this song came out and I thought it was the most romantic song ever. A million years later, I still do......

I've been an avid fan of all of Knopfler's work ever since.

I'm also a huge fan of Pink Floyd and having lived during the British Invasion of the Sixties and Seventies, I could have named any number of great British bands.

“Telegraph Road” has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it over 35 years ago. I enjoy putting it on and driving to it, especially the end part.

The song doesn’t actually end in a traditional sense, i.e. the musicians don’t stop playing. The recording equipment just stops recording.

Interesting. I'll have give that one a more serious listening.

Interesting to see how many people still like heavy metal. While I may have listened to that in my early teens I quickly outgrew it!

What a great thread!

I was born in the 80’s so I grew up with some great British bands to listen to..

Dire Straits. Romeo and Juliet is my favourite song of all time. Mark Knofler has to be the most underrated guitar player of all time.

Paul Weller. His Jam days and solo stuff. Some great British music there.

For me though. The Clash is the best band to ever exist. White Man in Hammersmith Palais is my favourite song of their’s.

Tull is definitely in my top 5. Seen them many times since Songs from the Wood.
Can’t believe how young Martin looks in that pic. Lol
