There’s actually a fairly big size disparity in how they wear. I have them both and they’re both awesome, you can’t make a wrong choice here. Just try them on if that’s possible, the right one will make itself apparent when they’re on your wrist.

I have a slightly larger wrist than you (6.7", flat) and I feel the 116710 is on the cusp of being too large / uncomfortable. I am surprised by the amount of recommendations for the Submariner given your wrist size. It's like being recommended an ill-fitting suit. |

To me a watch is oversized if the lugs overhang. I have a 6,25 " wrist and I wear a black bay 41mm comfortably as my wrist is rather flat. In my opinion people tend to exaggerate watch sizes on the forums. a Proportionally sized diver as the current gen sub will wear most of the wrists just fine. Many non watch people wear ridicously sized smart watches which do look large and most of the "real" watches are modest in size compared to them.
I would still vote for the explorer as ceramic sub is rather blingy and there are occasions where you want to be low key. |

OP, reading your post, And adding that you have a GMT already. My opinion would be the Explorer. It's a very fine watch in what I think would be a perfect match for you.
I think you may find that in time the Explorer will steal most of your wrist time. You have already mentioned you were leaning towards the Explorer. Go with what YOU want and what your heart tells you. Don't be swayed by others as your the one wearing and paying for it. The decision is ultimately yours alone.

I own both, sub first and absolutely loved it and wore it basically ever day for a year. Just got the exp and it is just a fantastic every day watch, comfortable, looks great, etc. Had my sub on for a week on vacation and was itching to put the explorer back on
I have similar sized wrist… if wearing for fun/casual, go sub. If for everyday work, etc go explorer. Or better yet, turn on the charm and talk them into selling you both and youll be all set! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Though I prefer the 39mm Exp because of the size, I can definitely see the allure of the 124270. The AR coating is a huge plus for both of these models.

This is a much better size comparison photo because the watches are not sitting on different sized clasps. ….Save the drama - I’m just here for the photos…. |

I know not all 6.5" wrists are the same, some flat, some round, but for many, I think the 124060 will be on the cusp of looking too big. There's nothing wrong with that, personal choice. I like a watch that fits me well and looks like how it was intended to look on the wrist. If possible, definitely try on exhibition models. Good luck!

Only way to really know is to go try it on!! If you have been offered it then they are more than likely in store, go and try both of them on and see which speaks to you

If the Explorer was still 39 it would be a more difficult choice. But at 36 my vote is Sub all the way.

a 14060m would be better sized, but I'd go with the sub between these two.

36mm is just too small. Go with the Sub. None of us here dive anyways… well maybe a handful. Still, get the Sub

I’ve same wrist size as you and I recently got to try on both.
They’ll both fit your wrists but in different ways. I found the Explorer has a more classic and understated look whilst the Submariner has a more sporty and aggressive presence. You can’t go wrong with either, just depends on the look you’re going for! |
