This could be a regular thread.

Various different match ups. Fun to see the different answers.

I think Tom beats Brad. They’re both about 60. Tom was in excellent shape, even going shirtless for that beach football scene, in Top Gun Maverick. He’s also totally sober from drugs/alcohol/tobacco.

Brad is a few inches taller, and per Google he’s sober now but has damaged himself with drugs/alcohol in the past. Has anyone seen bullet train? Is he doing any difficult stunts on his own or just fake punching people on a train?

Wild card here is that a lot of actors take steroids. If Brad roided up for Bullet Train, while Tom stayed au naturale to pass Scientology audits — then it’s a closer fight, but ultimately I still give it to Tom because he’s insane and would fight dirty.

This is great. Hard to say.

But I’m going Cruise on this one. Tough match up though. I’d pay to see that fight.

I'm gonna go with Cruise, he's got the focus, is in great shape, and let's face it, he probably has laser beams for eyes!

It’s not even a fight. The other wolves are trying to get at the bears, but they are nothing more than a nuisance. They cannot even get past the bears’ fur. The bears only turn around to shoo them away, then back to the one they’re dismantling. (I know we weren’t talking about brown bears or wolves, just some visual)

I’d say man is the only primate, or animal period, that could contest a grizzly and that would take high power weapons and distance. If I don’t have the distance…..I’d have to play dead and rely on the fact that they’re not normally that aggressive.
Grizzly all day and twice on Sunday. Anyone who thinks otherwise has not seen a full sized grizzly bear, they are truly awe inspiring creatures. Seeing them near each other would leave little doubt. The polar bear would be its only even competition as they are larger than grizzly’s.

It was more a scientific pivot on my part but I’m happy you enjoyed it.

I think Brad Pitt's stunt double is tougher than Tom Cruise's or Chuck Norris' stunt double.

Brad was a boozer and heavy smoker. I don’t think he’d last too long. Gotta go with Tom on this one Bri.

Let's get back to CJ Hanna's wild world of animals

P.S. Jack Hanna was a legend. His show will be greatly missed as he struggles thru his health issues. Wishing him the best. While the topic of the thread is somewhat immature (sorry CJ, but my dad can beat up your dad jk), it is interesting to discuss animals nonetheless.

Well duh, a bear would win.

Now if you had said a bear versus a school of tuna, then that's a different story...........

Yes especially if the Tuna “developed a system to establish a beach-head and aggressively hunt the bear and it’s family and corner the bear it’s children, and its offspring.”
How?
The Tuna “will construct a series of breathing apparatus with kelp and will be able to trap certain amounts of oxygen. It's not gonna be days at a time. An hour? Hour forty-five? No problem. That will give the tuna enough time to figure out where the bear lives, go back to the sea, get some more oxygen, and stalk the bear… The bear is now out gunned and out-manned.”

Originally this concept was explored be wild animal researchers in the scientifically accurate film “the Other Guys” in which Tuna established this method to hunt lion after eating one and acquiring a taste for it off the coast of Africa but I believe MILGAUSS88 is correct in that it could be adopted for bear. And by researchers I mean to NYPD detectives threatening each other. And by scientifically accurate I mean an absolute work of fiction.

Grizzly, outweighs that Silverback and is a lot bigger, and claws that’d rip you open stem to stern. Seen Grizzlies up close (not planned) and the Silverback, as a smart primate, would book it the F outta there….

I reckon lion vs gorilla would have been a fairer match-up. A grizzly will win against every land animal except elephant, rhino and hippo.

Or maybe the rhino/hippo to a grizzly is like a water buffalo to a lion.
