What I suspect and hope has happened here is that you were originally sold two Rolex watches that had been fitted with aftermarket parts at some time (specifically the dials) and likely hands also. Hands are a common service replacement. The dial in your watch is not a genuine Rolex dial.

That doesn't automatically mean the rest of your watch or watches is/are not authentic and the crown, case, bezel, cyclops magnifier and date font all look fine for that reference of that age. Thats not to say they are all correct, but they look authentic.

From the pictures posted, your watch appears to be quite heavily worn and quite old. Non genuine diamond dials are not that uncommon in older Rolex watches but do of course signifiantly reduce value.

What is concerning is the amount of time it has taken the jeweller to source the dials and that's worth a question as to why. As for the new dials, I'm no expert but the new dials look authentic to me.

Personally given all that's happened I would ask for a full refund plus a gesture towards your significant inconvenience and the time taken, and look elsewhere for replacement. Alternatively, I'd have the dials swapped and ask the jeweller to pay for a full service and refurbishment if not with a Rolex Service Centre who may refuse to work on them if the new dials are not to the original specification of the watches but with one of the specialists like https://www.rolliworks.com/ or http://www.lawatchworks.com/ who can n ot only validate and service the watches but refinish them to a high standard.

I would concur with everything youve said here.

Thank you for your reply. 🙏

Here’s a pic of the movement of the 26mm.

My jeweler is working hard to resolve this matter.

Here are the newly installed dials. They look a lot nicer than the pic shows.
The 26mm still has some peeling on the second hand so the jeweler is going to replace it also.

are you Ghandi? OP, You are by far, the most patient person I have ever come across on this forum in my 11 years here

I cannot fathom lending these people this much time and hard earned money for what you received

That is an astute observation. I could use some of her patience….
Looks like it might turn out Ok after all. I hope the jeweler gives her a gift, or something, to reward her for her faith and trust.

😂@Ghandi!! Funny.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m truly hoping my patience pays off. Since they wouldn’t offer me a refund, I didn’t really have a choice, unless I wanted to be stuck with what they originally sold me. Which I couldn’t accept. Especially since we paid a premium for these used watches. We could have purchased new ones (without the diamonds, of course) with the amount of money that we paid for these watches. In hindsight, that is what we should have done. Purchased new ones that were just basic entry level Rolex’s, from an authorized Retailer, that had the paperwork from Rolex guaranteeing their authenticity. Hindsight is 20/20.

Thank you for your kind words, and your time responding to my post.

Thank you for your kind words and your time responding to my post. I think I will pitch the “gift from jeweler for my patience” suggestion to my jeweler. I like it. I think you are right. 😉 😂
