Gold hands inside gold subdial making the visibility much worse.

Yeah, I think this is right.

I own the 508 version of this "PN" dial and it is my favorite watch. I am kind of torn though. I have to admit, I am not mad at the new version. Definitely a more elegant and refined look compared to the previous version that is really sporty. I am not going to trade for the new one but I see why the Crown made these changes.

Incoming brand new Paul Newman. Offered both, which way did I go?

tough call. I think the missing red second hand and black sub dial hands would push me to go with the retired reference.

That said, I'm dying to try a 126... daytona.

116 PN dial with red second hand makes it that much sportier....but the 126's glidelock makes the clasp elite

Glidelock.

Both drop-dead gorgeous watches.

Oof. Don't like the update. I told my AD I was interested in the Newman Daytona. He had one on Oysterflex which was nice but I am a bracelet guy. He said I would get one of the next ones on bracelet. I definitely will be passing on this one.

The old one for me and they can't even compare.

The red hand and subdial hands are most obvious, but no one mentioned circle textured subdial on old vs plain on new one.

The only thing that I found equal or maybe better on new one are slimmer indices.
