I have a 126613LB and love it. TT is just real polarizing and for whatever reason, a lot of folks just ain’t into it. Because of that, I could see Daytonas in this category as less sought after and easier to get from an AD.

Too close to steel and too far away from all gold places the watch in no man’s land.

It’s because it’s the leftover “cheesiness” of the 70s and 80s!

Back in the 90s TT was the desirable configuration. It’s a fashion that lasted about a decade.

126503 Daytona looks really good, perhaps i should consider adding. That would have me on 4 TT pieces in the collection

There's a lot of back and forth on this topic. Not every two tone is created equal.

Two tone dress watches may look like someone couldnt swing the full PM version.

And while some TT sport watches are certainly easier to obtain than their stainless steel counterpart, others are in a category of their own.

For example, I'd say the Rootbeer and the Bluesy have both set a standard of their own. When I see a Rootbeer in the wild (which in and of itself is a rare occasion) I dont think.... "Well there's a guy that couldn't get a Batman from his AD and had to settle...". I think..... "Wow that guy got a Rootbeer from his AD and thats one of the nicest watches I've ever seen.."

To each his own I guess.

I had a two tone champagne dial about 10 years ago and it was simply too small and illegible for my liking.

That’s how I feel about Rose-Gold today, it has certainly climbed in popularity, I love the TT CHNR everything about it is right, full RG too but not for me to wear.
I do think RG will reach a peak then fade off.

Less people desire the TT watches than either full steel or full PM. Less demand.

It’s subjective. The only TG watch that I might, MIGHT, consider is a CHNR Everose/steel GMT because it seems to fit together better. Still, I had the choice and went for the full rose gold

Annoying people is great fun, but can be so time-consuming.

TT is the perfect solution: passive annoyance. Just strap one on your wrist enjoying the fuming.

I like two tone watches, I own an Explorer two tone and a black diamond dial Daytona that I absolutely love. I really could care less if a watch is desired by others or not, thats not the reason why I buy them. I buy what I like and wear it however I want, its jewelry after all.

I own a two tone Daytona and Tudors, My wife makes me wear long sleeves when we leave the house to hide our shame. Thankfully I’m bald and fully bearded so despite my beta watch collection I do project alpha testosterone.

I love TT….. BUT not with every model
My theory is that SS ‘stood’ and will stand ‘THE TEST OF TIME’
probably full PM as well
BUT
TT proofed ‘FAIL’ with some watch brands ie if you think now of the 90s Tag hauer and britling for example, that’s why TT is subconsciously not preferred by the majority as it gives certain vibes of an era but the SS & PM doesn’t they are ‘TIMLESS’

It would be poor if we didn’t have the variety, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course……

There’s far more sales of stainless but also more sales of two tone than PM.

Excluding DDate (only available in PM) visit/ask any AD or look on any used platform and there’s more TT than PM for sale.

Personally I wouldn’t have the SkyDweller in any other combination than what I have myself although a blue dial two tone would trump it if available….

The only Daytona I’ve ever actually seen new at an AD was a TT.

There’s a watch to suit every taste, and taste is of course subjective. The posts above show that some like TT but others, not so much. I like the TT Submariner. Others, it totally depends on the dial pairing. I don’t own any TT watches. SS is perfect for everyday wear, whereas all PM is perfect for formal attire.

Personally I like to tone. Don't really care what anyone else thinks. Although the majority on this form do not like two tone I assure you they are not the voice of the general public.

I'm looking at the blue SS but in TT would be very interesting.

Because of the material used in its construction, The combination of stainless steel and gold in the Two-Tone Daytona can make it more affordable than full gold version due to the lower cost of stainless steel compared to solid gold

I never realized how polarizing this topic was. As an 80’s kid, two tone was cool. E.g. Miami Vice and everyone’s uncle with the two tone Datejust on overstretched jubilee.
