I opted for Polar, I did like it better, but also because I already had a Sub-C.

I see 10x as many Polar as I do black, and I'm happy about that.

Can’t explain all advantages now but definitely get 22 and not 21. Small $ difference crazy worth it

There no difference over the years in the 216570s if you have the chance try both on. I own the polar but so love the black. I don’t like the new 226570 because of the mat hands and hour markers I think the gloss is by far way better. I’d like to get the back dial at some point. I think it looks really good in some situations.

I chose black for the 226, which complements my champagne and white pieces.
If I had only the 226, I would still prefer black. That said, you can't go wrong with white - both look great on the 226.

has anyone owned both 216570 and 226570 polar. Is there much notieable difference in dials?

I dont care about the other differences in case, bracelet and movement. Dial differences are the thing I am bothered about the most.

As I understand the main difference in dial is that the hands/markers are now matte vs polished in the older model.

Does it make a big difference visually? To my mind polished feels better (even if legibility is enhanced with matte dial).

Any views?

I cant contrast the two side by side right meow, as I have neither anymore. The 226570 is a massive improvement imho. The AR coating makes a big difference to legibility, and the handset is significantly more visible as the light does not bounce off the glossy hands. In addition, they have slightly changed the dial material (or paint w.h.y.) and the dial is more subtle and more visible, somehow. My AD’s evaluation is the opposite, however, he thinks the 216570 is better in that its slightly more refined (the matte handset is a bit rough on closer examination). Finally, the upgraded Chromalite is a significant improvement to the earlier Chromalite — my 1675 lume out performs my 116710 Chromalite lume.

I know you say it doesn’t matter, but the new bezel geometry and crown depth make a difference in wearing the watch as well. The watch catches things less and is more comfortable if you wear it a bit loose and move your wrist about a lot. The altered geometry also makes the numerals on the bezel pop a bit more. The change is only very minor, but in terms of wear there is a big difference.

My money would be on the 226570 for all of the above reasons and the integration of the bracelet, which i find to be significantly more subtle and appealing — it makes the watch imho.

The black dial pales in comparison. I found it very lacklustre, missed the floating handset look, and didnt really see the point in owning a black dial EXPII over the 116710LN (in fact, the latter is an improvement); I also didnt like how it wore, feeling decidedly less me.

Great pictures. It does make me chuckle though when people bang on about how rough the black painted parts of the BB Pro hands are, yet when you see close up shots of the Polar’s hands they are very similar. For me it’s not an issue though as when I look down at the watch to use it for what it is for - telling the time, I do so with the naked eye and not through a loupe.

Yeah, it didn’t bother me, either. Functionality over form is king for me…. He says wearing 1675 because it’s prettier than the 116710…

Not the best picture, barely discernable. Probably one of those things you need to see in person.

I tried both last weekend thinking that I would prefer the white dial but in the end opted for the black….was looking for an under the radar piece and felt the black worked better in that regard. Though the polar while nice was a little less ‘serious’.
