Yes, on TT or PM models. SS continues to enjoy hype and thus ADs will leverage them to the hilt. (Been offered an unsolicited DJ36 recently.)

I’m okay with this line of thinking. Most things in the world have a listed price and that’s what you pay. I don’t haggle over the price of my food at the grocery store or a new pair of shoes at Saks, I’m not sure how or why this ever became the model for watches.
That said the retail price has to be a realistic representation of what the potential buyer sees as the value. I think Rolex SS pieces are expensive but most feel their MSRP is fair compared to other brands. PM prices on the other hand seem to have pie in the sky prices pulled out of thin air bearing no real correlation to their raw materials worth. They will have discounts again sooner rather than later.

I don't haggle over food at the grocery store either.

But I do seek a discount on virtually everything else.
- Watches, yes...
- Gas card (save $0.1/gal with zero effort)
- Vehicles
- Large appliances
- Cross-shop services (contractors, real estate agents, utilities...)

Do you pay your full taxes as well or do you seek credits and deductions? Do you use tax advantaged accounts?

I think you're in the minority if you truly pay "face value" for things.

No one knows the future but everyone one this forum will say “discounts never will happen” but they also said bubble backs were never gonna go out of style. If crypto does a further tank, if there is a significant market correction, if the I-banks or big law have a bloodletting or if geopolitical unrest heightens, then anything is possible.

I want Rolex to sell more watches and availability endless on all the references piece when walking into an AD / boutique.

Increase the supply and flood the market with Rolex so everyone has a chance to own/wear what they like :)

If that happened I guarantee they would be less appealing to people.

Part of the lure is the difficulty to get, why do you think they are so much more wanted than Omega!

It’s part of the game !

Anything is possible, will all depend on ADs' sales target to remain in Rolex's good favors. You could get lucky who knows, but demand would probably have to drastically reduce for this to happen.

I received a 10% discount from AD on a full gold Rootbeer in Jan 2021. Thats when the retail price was €36.4k. That was not that long ago when you think about it.

Now, which much higher retail prices and ever decreasing 2ndary market value, I would not be surprised if those discounts come back. Especially for models that are well below retail price like the white gold submariner and white gold Pepsi.

I think that's part of the appeal, but when you compare the Exp1 to a Seamaster or Speedmaster you can immediately notice the build quality is better.

The bracelet itself is so much better constructed and the wearability is much better.

The exclusivity is probably what's driving a portion of the hype for the GMTs though. Whenever I go to a random AD during conferences the question every walk in has is "do you have a batman?"

The AD prices these days ARE the discount prices, when you compare them to the grey prices.
