Glad you got a watch you really liked but disappointed that we're still seeing flipping activity on an 18K white gold model.
Congrats OP!!

But even with weak yen and duty free price only a couple thousand above retail…not sure if that’s above US or Japan retail but regardless, suggests there’s a decent chance the flipper sold at a loss as the dealer needs to make a margin. In any event not at hug premium.

Which is great because I’ve been trying to get his model from my AD too!

I agree, my wife and I must have spent a good 30 minutes or so scrutinizing the dial, it's just so cool that you can see so many different patterns on it.

This is another funny story. I was trying to do online check in before my flight but it kept failing and I couldn't figure out why. When I got to the airport I tried to do the check in using their automated kiosks but again it kept failing. Asked the staff for help and she said to wait a minute... next thing I know 3 customs officers holding a duffel bag and iPad approach me and my wife.

We thought we were going to get arrested or disappeared or something. They asked for my passport and looked at all the countries I've visited and asked me some simple questions like where I'm going or where I live etc. etc. Then the guy with the duffel bag says to me "You bought a Rolex? Where is it?"

I showed him I was wearing it, he looked it over and then said "nice watch" and "thank you" and then let us go. First time this has happened to me lol.

It's a popular place for watches with tons of grey dealers located in one location. Very easy to get to in Japan via the subway.

I'm comparing it to the retail price in Singapore where I live. I have no idea what US retail price is.

lol i had the same experience leaving japan just a couple months ago. They just want to make sure you're not reselling it within the country. Congrats!! Best rolex in the catalog IMO!

Big congrats. Definitely much more special than the SS and feels much more substantial on the wrist. Welcome to the Meteorite club :)

I've dropped into this thread a couple of times to see the pictures, this watch is truly stunning. I love the blue and red with the white dial contrast.

As I have previously mentioned, "almost" every and any Rolex is available in Tokyo Japan. Exchange rate, and no tax (with your passport), make every purchase totally possible, even probable.

For the money you pay over MSRP in the US, you can fly to Tokyo, have a great time, get a watch, and fly home !

Beautiful, congratulations!

And I agree with you on the watch being far more legible than people claim.

You got one of the best .

Thanks guys, I notice with this watch I'm always trying to find new angles to look at the dial to see if I can notice any different patterns. It's so good.
