After about a week on the wrist it's been great. Very comfortable and accurate. Gains about 3 seconds a day resting dial up and loses about 3 seconds a day resting crown up. Consistent with other Rolex I've had and easy to self regulate. Power reserve doesn't seem to be as good as original. I suspect some barrel spring damage but oh well. It only seems to last about 24 hours after taken off instead of 48.
Dial and everything continue to look fantastic. I'm able to resize the clasp and get a good fit. Interesting that it seems to weigh much less than a modern DJ41 white gold bezel steel jubilee. I think the new bracelet links and clasps are a lot stronger than the old ones.

I own a 16753 and a 16570 with a 78790 A bracelet. It may be frowned upon, but I'd like to have the ability to throw the Oyster bracelet from the Explorer II on the Root Beer for a less "flashy" look, though the end links don't quite fit.
Does anyone have any info on which end links would be viable for this? Last edited by ncsubmariner; 24 August 2024 at 02:49 AM.. Reason: removed SEL |

Can’t help with that.
But I also don’t like wearing flashy watches even though I like the way they look. The rootbeer is understated to me. I think the browns and slight patina on the gold make it subdued compared to a modern TT. I’d feel weird wearing a bluesy even though I love them. But the rootbeer doesn’t make me feel weird at all. Lots of people wear really gaudy fake jewelry watches in gold tone and huge sizes. What makes a Rolex look out of place or too attention grabbing is that it’s also identifiable as a Rolex often.
