My 116622 pt dial weighs 148g, about the same as the latest Sub 126610 (150g). Maybe you're comparing the YM against older 5 digit Subs with hollow links?

Every AD Relationship story I see on here is what I call an "inverted relationship". Let me make "nice" with my AD so he might sell me a $15,000 watch. That's just ridiculous.
I would like to know what advantage there is to grovel in front of some salesperson to please, please sell me a watch. I don't get it. I have purchased 7 watches (4 Rolexes) this year - unplanned - need to dial it back. LOL. And my local AD could care less - and has no clue. But my grey dealer knows me and knows me well and treats me very nicely - "What would you like, yes I can get that for you, it will be at your door tomorrow, great doing business with you." Until AD's treat me like that - I see no advantage in dealing with them. |

I just hate paying a premium :P I have 2 grey guys and they are very appreciative of my business. I just figured with this watch it could be obtained at retail... |

The 126622 is a great choice, elegant yet sporty and it offers solid value, especially given its rarity. It’s a hard-to-find model with good resale potential, making it a smart buy if you can get one.

This watch - the SS 40mm Yachtmaster seems to be in that range. The GMT Root Beer, 2 Tone Daytona's, a few of the DayDate references and pretty much any of the all gold references fall into the key 10%-15% premium. Obviously this does not apply to the SS GMT's, SS Daytona, etc. So while getting a SS Daytona at the AD is a big score. Getting the Yachtmaster at retail is not that big of a deal. A lot of Pateks (non SS sportswatches) are trading below retail in the greys right now, as are VC, Omega, Grand Seiko, IWC... I picked up a brand new Omega Speedmaster Racing this summer for $3,000 less than the Omega Boutique would sell me. (a 33% discount) (Everyone probably knows this already) |

At the end of the day, this is just a hobby, an expensive one, but just a hobby... Actually not that bad, my wife's best friend's husband collects cars, built a 6 car garage. Now that's an expensive hobby. My other neighbor races sports cars - owns a big F-350 to tow the cars around, spends $3,000 on a weekend just in tires. My brother bought a F-350 and camper to travel around to different dog shows. Lots of ways to waste money I guess. Watches seem nice and not a lot of hassle - I owned a series of boats... Hahaaha never again. |

I just have an issue paying above msrp. Especially for a watch and one that is lower demand. I do not want any watch enough to do so. I am on a "wait" list at 3 different AD's for a Yachmaster. Has only been a month. 1 place I have purchase history, others I do not. I went in dressed well, wearing my AP. Will be interesting to see how it goes. My wait times and buying experiences for other luxury items and brands like AP and Cartier were straight forward and professional. Hopefully it will be the same with Rolex. I will do my normal polite monthly emails as have with other brands. |

I've been on the 'waitlist' for a Sub (no date) for 1 yr 9 months, and a slate YM40 for about 7 months. In the meanwhile I have bought a DJ41 and Exp 1 from grey without any fuss. I think I'm also done with this waiting game crap.

I waited 3 months for my RO. 3 months is acceptable to me for a YM. Beyond 6 will feel odd. Curious, were the DJ and Exp new from the grey dealer ? |

About six months into my wait for this one - really love that blue second hand against the slate dial. My AD tells me they've only seen three of them in 2024. Not a big demand item when compared to several other references, so I'm hoping to one comes my way in early 2023. If not, i will likely go gray...

37mm Rhodium YM vs 40mm Blue YM - on 165mm wrist. Both are amazing, the 37mm is the size of the original Rolex Submariner. The Rhodium probably gets more wrist time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I have a Rolex and a Costco card, so I shouldn’t be complaining
