That is a fantastic looking watch. Love the art deco design and having a perpetual calendar with such a slim case is so classic. A true grail.

Thanks Skippy and Subtona. The 5940 is very thin and may be too small for larger wrists. My 5146P is the ideal 39mm Patek watch.

Love the 5940j Hughiee! It's something I'd love to add next time to partner with my 5140g. Will have to wait for Patek to introduce other metals first. But I hope to be able to try one someday. Thanks for sharing this!
Please post a shot of your 5146p beside the 5940j. That would be nice!

Group photo w/5711

Thanks Mauiguy. I really like your 5712/1A. Love the outdoor photos of your classic Nautilus and the 240 movement.

Kuota, I have always wanted a 5140G or 5140J so I opted for the 5940J as a timeless perpetual calendar in my collection. The 5140 looks better on my wrist though.

Per your request, here is the group photo with a sibling in the middle. I have replaced the 5146P strap with the original matte gray. The platinum doesn't go well with the brown strap in my opinion. The 5940J can be dressed up with a shiny black strap. It is shown with the original dark chocolate strap in this photo.

A few guys has one on the Geneva trip. Great looking piece in person. I also like the 3940. It is a better bang for buck if you have a wrist to wear the smaller case. Congrats! Stunning!

Thanks Hughiee. I think your 5146P looks great on the brown strap. That's how I'd wear it for sure. Beautiful watch.

Cheers!

Love the 5940. Fits perfectly on the wrist and extremely thin and light! A real beauty.

Thanks but it is actually a 3970P with silver dial! Your next choices sound good too.

PS. It is getting service at Stern Agency in NYC and I can't wait to finally get it back in a few weeks!!

5726A-001 Black Dial. Pardon the duplicate pics but the 6/29 photo above was taken with a new DSLR.

Since the strap is cut to fit you really must creep up on the fit and err on the side of one rib too big rather than risk too tight. The result is just featherlight, perfect fit, and in 24 hrs I've felt no need for any adjustment at all. Just great.

For grins I weighed mine...

While my SS SubC weighs 147 grams, the 5167 weighs in at only 76 grams. It's a difference you really feel.

I've come to view the Aquanaut as basically a Calatrava that has joined the witness protection program...

One more pic from last night:
I'm in love! It's Beautiful.
