Cellini. It just doesn't do anything for me.

Anything with roman numerals. Especially with IIII instead of IV. That just looks silly

What Rolex model you would never ever buy?

Yeah again it’s not a matter of preference here.

YOU like the OP over the sub. That’s fine

But the OP39 was the entry level model for men’s Rolex watches. It is priced the cheapest.

This isnt subjective it is what it is.
I’m not bringing up waitlists or resale values or even crowd favorites. I am talking about from a pure point by point basis that the submariner is more premium than a OP

I don’t know how else to explains this

It’s just that you are coming across as “I’m too good for the OP39”

Tried to give you the benefit of the doubt on that but you just keep doubling down. Not the end of the world though.

OPs are great watches and can and do co-exist in a collection alongside subs, gmts, etc.

What I’m saying and what your interpreting are two completely different things.

Never said OPs can’t co exist in a collection.
I just said I wanted to upgrade to a better watch which the submariner undoubtedly is.

If you like the OP line that’s cool, but I’m not gonna agree with you when you say that a OP39 is as great as a sub cause I don’t believe that

OP is as great as a Sub. In fact, OP is a better deal. Its half the price of the Submariner and it was widely available in pretty much any AD.
You still get a Rolex, it has the best bracelet ever, the brushed oyster....and the same movement. Yes, there is no ceramic bezel, no glide-lock...but there is 5000 $ in my pocket and Im still wearing a brand new sport model Rolex.

What we are expressing here is our own preferences, models we wont buy because we don't like them for various reasons.
I can argue anything you say because I have a different perspective.

Subs are great but OPs are just as great.....entry level or not.

I think the only Rolex model I wouldn't buy (or wear) would be the Pearlmaster and anything below 31mm

My take on the OP below.

People who worry about it being "entry-level" (lol), it's still a 5k watch. If you can afford to spend 5k on a watch, you can also afford a more expensive piece.

In my experience, most people that can afford and buy the OP are in a better financial position than the ones buying Submariners.

What I love about it is that nobody identifies it as a "Rolex" or an "expensive" timepiece. I can wear this to any gathering without people asking questions and not having to explain to anyone why I'd spend more than $70 on a watch. If I would show up with a two-TT Submariner I'd be 'that guy', and I'm not.

It's the perfect go-to watch for me.

To answer the question, I'd never say never.

There are a few I don't currently like, but tastes change over the years, back in my 20's I wouldn't have worn a TT Sub LN, but now I'm in my late 40's it's one of my favourite watches. In my humble opinion they look better on older guys.

I'm not a big fan of the GMTs with cartoon names, but maybe that will change.

Right now I alternate between a YM 116655 and a 116613LN as daily wearers, but that may change with time.

I cant see me ever wearing a diamond studded yellow gold day/date - but who knows.

GMTs, Subs, SD, Daytona etc.

These are all for men who wear jewellery (i.e. watches) but are embarrassed by the fact they're wearing jewellery so need to pretend that they're not.

I just noticed that this started in 2016. Imagine that. 4 years and people have continued to list Rolexes they would not buy. I skipped from the first to the last so I must have missed all the variants of models (Great White, but only with...), etc.

I just wanted to repost a statement I enjoyed and endorse:

I think half of the models are a no go for me: any Cellini, DJ, Day/Date, OP. But really, I don't see myself getting another rolex outside of the ExpII I currently own. It's the perfect rolex for me.

A Rolex that’s just to heavy as a daily watch in my comfort zone.

DayDate, DateJust, SkyDweller, anything with a fluted bezel and diamonds. Sorry but these have zero appeal for me. Anything else, no problem..

I agree. Daytonas are only desired, because they are desired and sought after. The dials are too busy with chronometers that don’t really get used and three crowns. It’s too small and in my opinion is quite ugly. The prettiest most elegant Rolex is the Yachmaster 42 in white gold and Oysterflex bracelet. A Beautiful watch.

I love my SD 43. It fits perfectly. Even though my wrist is 8 1/2" I don't think I would ever get the Deep Sea due to the size.
