A fond farewell to my 5512, which I've now sold (long story).

I do miss that grey/blue/purple insert, but the 1680 is making up for the loss nicely.

Both beauties - tough to see that 5512 go, but the red is cool!

As the kids say, sick! Super cool SD. And as time goes on, I love how these "modern" watches are becoming vintage. Well, close anyway. With faded inserts and tritium patina, I say these classic Rolexes are vintage even with sapphire crystals.

Z, i have seen it at HQwebsite - wasnt sure if it was yours first but loved that watch. Your new red is sure of the hook, change is good sometimes

Many thanks my friend! It's 25 years old, so no baby, I agree. Maybe it could be 'vintage-ish' in another decade or so, but to me it will always be modern with a 3135 high-beat inside, and the other more recent technical specs. I love that it has patina and is unpolished and raw, though!

thanks brother - I still drool over the matte dial transitionals as well, though.
Would love a 16660 with an insert like this 16600 has, and a sharp case. I also like the tropical gloss/wg surround ones from the mid-to-late 80s (and 16800/0 subs).

Thanks guys! Interview went really well! One of the (6!) people I met with was wearing an older Explorer II polar - not quite vintage but not the newest one. I didn't bring it up but damn, that's a good looking watch!
