Thanks, I really am enjoying it. Every part of this watch is finished so beautifully and smartly engineered, it's going to be hard to too a piece like this!

Feel like I have two watches. Inside pretty much looks like a black dial (with a little pop of green lettering). The blue gradient really needs some serious light to "come out". In the sun, it really sings

Delighted to join this thread!
Just received by DSSD today and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. This model has had so much stick that I was a little nervous this morning before its arrival. The good news - I needn't of been! My initial impressions are:
1) Looks substantial and impressive. It is not a pretty watch and doesn't want to be. INDUSTRIAL more like. Love the writing on the dial and rehaut (what IS all the fuss about?), the eye-catching bezel and domed sapphire glass. 2) Maxi dial and larger hands all very legible. Lume OK but not up to Breiling/Omega/Panerai IMHO. 3) The bracelet is superb with easy adjustment making it very comfortable on my 7.25" wrist. I took the advice of many and removed the divers link (easily done). Yes, the case is thick but it seems to sit better on my wrist than my Sea Dweller did. Whether this is the bracelet, the lugs, I don't know. As for it tapering and being too small - I totally disagree. I think Rolex have got it right. I've never enjoyed having a wide bracelet on my wrist. It's far too heavy and clunky (if you've ever had the Panerai you'll know what I mean). Overall then, a big . Early days I know but I think I may have found my ultimate dive watch. |

My favorite acquisition in 2014. I absolutely love the engineering and watch making craftsmanship that went into this timepiece.

Doesn't anybody use these for diving anymore? I mean it makes a great EDC watch but I'd love to see the DS in its native environment - water.

Has anyone gone below the depth rating of a sub where the DSSD is needed? Has anyone gone below the depth rating of a GMT or daytona? I have not but own all.

Traded my DSSD for a new GMT. Never warmed up to the proportions of the bezel on the DSSD and it always felt weird on my wrist. I was always aware it was there. Love the new GMT. Incredibly comfortable and very practical when traveling.
