My dad gave me this 1680 when I was 17 years old. I have been wearing it daily for 45 years (except when it was being serviced) and only take it off when I go to sleep! I don’t know if anyone else does this but during my travels over the years I have always “baptized”my watch in the body of water I’m near by swimming or dipping if it’s too cold. This watch has not been babied! Still have the original box and papers.

How old were you when you got your first Rolex?

I was 27 yrs old when I bought my Sub date and I still have it to this day.

37. Just liked watches and was curious what’s so great about a Rolex. Have bought and sold several over the last 5 years. Fun hobby and haven’t lost a dime yet on trading.

Beautiful watch. For some reason I do the same baptizing thing. Not really sure why, just feels right to say where it’s been.

My 1st Rolex came to me much later in life (50).

I’ve managed to dip different watches in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans…

Like you, I never take it off, except for me it’s to shower.
