From what I understand the online system for the Antarctique "Drake" is separate from all other models. Accordingly to literature they were making 1 regular production Drake per day. Independently, they still have other watchmakers producing other models.

Killer looking. Too small for me, but otherwise near perfect I'd say

According to google:
The daily price chart for crystallized osmium, which depicts values soaring 630% to $1,300 per gram in the past six years, is calculated on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that the institute maintains and then uploads to a website, which also features videos of Wolf pitching the element's upside.

I like the 38mm size. I think it may fit my wrist better than the 40 does. The texture of this new one looks interesting but the color is “off” to me but I can’t articulate why yet

Why the huge variation in price...50k-250k CHF? Looks like the micro adjustment was added, so that might be added for future Antarctiques?

All Antarctiques shipped in 2022 and onward include the micro-adjuster clasp.

Any older piece can be retro-fitted for $390 or CHF350. Same price as our deployant clasp for a steel watch.

Well, it seems embargoes (or is that embargos?) are made to be broken.

So osmium.... a fascinating metal. Rare and expensive. A small by-product of platinum mines.

How expensive? According to https://www.osmium-preis.com/en/price/usd/x/daily/ today's price of $1,869 per gram calculates to over $58,000 per troy ounce, about 30x more expensive than 24k gold.

Retail on the Antarctique S Frozen Star is US$85,700

Yes, VERY rare folks! Exceedingly rare. Good call by Czapek in using it, the dial looks great!

Holy sh*t!! That’s incredible. Hats off to Czapek. Wish I could get one of these. With how much I’d just sit and stare at the dial I’m sure my wife would think I pick up a porn addiction…. again

Just placed order for 38.5mm glacier blue , red tip- pretty psyched !

Question about bracelet - I ordered the brushed/polished but was wondering people’s thoughts on the fully brushed bracelet , as well as which color rubber strap they think matches best (I ordered dark blue).

Yikes - I know they had a few July dates and August dates when I was looking on Sunday. I have correspondence with Mike/Pierre but I know W&W is taking up most of their time. Is there any harm in locking a date by paying through the website so this doesn't drag out delivery date longer?

That might be a good idea. They obviously won’t be starting production on your reservation for many months so you can work out details of your preference after the fact.

That being said, I’m sure if you’ve been in tough with Pierre and Mike, they will take care of you.

If you finally decide to withdraw there is a CHF500 „fine” + any bank transfer costs.

A few other scenarios found here including potential fees for changes:

Thanks for the link. I will be patient and I'm sure I'll hear back in due time. Since I've been researching and thinking about this watch, had a dream last night that the price doubled and was wondering if I got grandfathered into the current price. This hobby sometimes

The Antarctique preorder manufacturing date calendar is now full through the end of August 2023. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 2023 fully booked by the end of W&W.

Does anyone know if/when Czapek will resume taking orders for the 40.5mm Drake? Looks like it is "Sold Out" on the website.
